Episode 7 of Bad Monkey season 1 arrived on Apple TV+ on September 18, 2024. With just four episodes left in this installment, the show has picked up pace, even with its shorter episodes.
Episode 7, titled, A Total Cat Person is a short but plot-heavy episode, with a lot happening surrounding the central characters of the show. The official synopsis for the same reads:
"Rogelio and Yancy find themselves in an explosive situation; Eve negotiates with the Dragon Queen."
In this episode, Yancy gets his badge back, Rosa quits her job, Rogelio and Mendez get shot at, and Bonnie finally stops running and hands herself over to the cops. The Dragon Queen on the other hand reveals that she doesn’t believe in her magic.

What happens to Rogelio?
At the beginning of Bad Monkey episode 7, Rogelio and Yancy arrest Mendez. However, while they are on their way to the station with Mendez handcuffed in the backseat of the car, he manages to open the lock and then shoots Rogelio in the leg.
Fortunately, nothing major happens to Rogelio as he is taken to the hospital on time. Later in the episode Yancy, Rosa, and others go to check up on him and he seems fine.
What happens to Mendez?
In the previous episode, Mendez fled the interrogation room after it was established that Yancy was not guilty and it was discovered that Mendez had tampered with the evidence. He is arrested for the same offense in this episode. He does, however, manage to flee a short while after his arrest before Yancy shoots and takes him out.
What happens to Yancy?
Yancy is a free man as episode 7 of Bad Monkey begins. A few minutes into the episode, he shoots Mendez. Soon, he goes to the station to discuss when he can get his badge back and learns that it will take some time. He goes for his normal food inspection job for the time being, which he hates.
Soon in the episode, he gets a call from Sheriff Sonny, who tells him there is good news and calls him to a desired location. When Yancy arrives, the detectives give him his badge and gun back.
So far, Yancy has done well in busting Nick and Eve, and in this episode, with the help of Neville, Nick’s exact location is also revealed. However, the detectives decide not to extradite the corrupt couple yet. They want the insurance money to be recovered first, after which they will arrest them.
Yancy does not like this move, however, as he just got his job back, he has to listen to his seniors, so that he can continue his investigation in Keys.
What happens to Rosa?
Rosa decides to quit right after returning to her job. She tells her sister later that she no longer wants to clean or dissect dead bodies in the future. When she returns to Yancy later in the show, they have a brief conversation about their day, before Cody and Yancy's father interrupt them.
Rosa is currently living a joyful and contented life with Yancy. As of yet, she is unsure about her desire for a relationship, which is evident in episode 7 of Bad Monkey. Therefore, Rosa and Yancy avoid having an open conversation about the same.
Still, it's clear from their on-screen connection that these two will form a fantastic duo. Rosa has helped Yancy solve Nick's case, and now that he has his badge back, she can work with him to solve other cases in the future.
What happens to Bonnie?
In this episode, Bonnie ultimately concludes that the crimes she has committed thus far are enough. She chooses to give up running. She tells Yancy the same thing and that it was a mistake to get close to Cody. After speaking with Yancy, she visits the garage where she used to store her books.
She discovers that the detectives have placed cameras there to monitor her movements. Bonnie faces one of those cameras and confesses her mistakes loudly, soon after which she gets arrested.
The question of whether Bonnie truly regrets her mistakes will be one that viewers will not soon forget. She has consistently demonstrated her ability to run, so will she go on the run again if she decides to alter her mind? Or is this her last chance at salvation?
What happens to the Dragon Queen?
The Dragon Queen was abducted by Nick and Eve previously, which is confirmed in episode 7 of Bad Monkey. However, soon after she renegotiates with Eve, she sells the land to the corrupt couple and gets her cheque.
Later in the episode, Yaya finds out that the Dragon Queen forged a deed, and stole a land. She tells her granddaughter to give the land back but she doesn’t agree on the same. The Dragon Queen screams in anger and disappointment and tells Yaya that she doesn’t believe that her magic is real.
During this entire time, show fans have conjectured whether or not the Dragon Queen is genuinely magical. Neville had given her enough money to help her regain his home previously, but she had earlier failed to assist him. She admits in this episode that her magic is an act to trick people out of money.
Now that she has used a fake document to sell the land, she wants to live the life she has always dreamed of with her grandmother by her side. But Yaya is not supportive of that.
Episode 7 of Bad Monkey ends with Yancy in danger
Episode 7 of Bad Monkey ends on a mysterious note as a few armed men are seen outside Yancy’s home and Yancy has no clue that danger is incoming. Future episodes of the show will address the questions of who these individuals are and why they are outside of Yancy's house.
