Season 1, episode 8 of Bad Monkey titled The Russian Mob Is Very Active in Key West arrived on Apple TV+ on September 25, 2024. The episode started with a lot of chaos erupting inside and outside Yancy’s home.

The armed men who were seen outside Yancy’s home in the previous episode start firing at Yancy and his guests at the start of episode 8 of Bad Monkey. However, nothing happens to Detective Yancy or any of the people inside the house. He is still alive.

So who were those men? And why did they fire at Yancy in the first place? Follow along to know everything about them. The official synopsis of episode 8 reads:

"With Caitlin and Rosa's help, Yancy cooks up a new plan to get Nick and Eve back to Miami."

Who are those men who attack Yancy in episode 8 of Bad Monkey?

Since the beginning of the show, Yancy has never liked his neighbor. After Yancy gets home in episode 7, he threatens his neighbor, saying he can ruin him and his real estate company by bringing legal action and complaints. Yancy had thrown his neighbor's phone into the river earlier, expressing his fury.

The men who attack Yancy and his guests in this episode are Pestov and members of the Russian Mafia. After learning that it's Andrew Yancy, Pestov orders an end to the gunfire and then apologizes to Yancy for the same.

Pestov informs Yancy in episode 8 of Bad Monkey that his neighbor hired the assassins to kill Yancy. However, Pestov was unaware that Yancy was the target of the assassination. Hence, he halted the firing as soon as he noticed that it was Yancy.

On the other hand, Pestov dispelled Yancy's incorrect belief that Nick and Eve had hired the killers. After a brief conversation with Pestov earlier in the episode, Yancy goes outside the neighbor's window and opens fire quickly to vent his displeasure after learning of the neighbor's plot against him.

Bonnie becomes a hero for a day

Bonnie, who gets herself arrested in the previous episode of Bad Monkey for her past mistakes with Cody, learns in this episode that the charges against her are not valid anymore. The authorities and Cody’s parents do not seem interested in holding her accountable. Therefore, she is once more free.

Bonnie, however, wants redemption. Therefore, she buys gasoline cans upon her return to Miami and blows up Yancy’s neighbor's yellow house, which was not getting sold, despite numerous attempts by its owner. Yancy, on the other hand, does not seem as satisfied as Bonnie.

She knows this is her go-to jail card, as the cops soon come and arrest her for arson. Bonnie wants to finally stop running, and she is successful this time.

However, later in the episode, the owner of the now-burnt property goes to Sonny and tells him not to press charges against Bonnie as arson is not covered in his insurance scheme. However, when he tries to bribe Sonny with a couple of bucks, Sonny does not seem to like the disrespect. So he disagrees.

However, Bonnie can still be out of jail if Sonny takes a bribe and then decides to remove the charges. The upcoming episodes will reveal more about Bonnie, as the showrunners definitely do not want her out of the big picture for long.

Nick and Eve have been living their lives on the island without worries, sipping good wine and eating the best food every day. In episode 8, they even get a new boat, in which they invite Gracie and Egg for some time. However, trouble was not far away for the fraudulent couple, as Yancy in this episode, along with Rosa and Caitlin, devised a plan to lure Nick and Eve back to Miami and arrest them.

As a part of the plan, Rosa, disguised as one of Caitlin’s friends, goes over to Nick and Eve to pretend to buy some property from them and convince them to pay the whole sum in cash. However, the catch is that Nick and Eve must fly to Miami to collect the cash, which they agree to.

Rosa also gains Eve's trust by acting as though she doesn't like or is close to Caitlin. Rosa plays along with Eve, giving her the impression that she is unaware of Nick's staged demise.

However, later in the episode, Nick and Eve visit the same bar that Rosa and Yancy had visited earlier. Rosa goes and stands beside the Polaroid of Yancy, Rosa, and Claspers. The episode ends with viewers wondering if Eve will see the Polaroid on the wall and learn about Yancy's plan.

If Eve finds out about the real reason why Rosa was at her place, trying to buy off some property, the deceptive couple could be one step ahead yet again. Instead of going to Miami, where Yancy plans on arresting them, they can flee to some unknown island, escaping arrest one more time.

Viewers will have to wait for upcoming Bad Monkey episodes to find out more about what will happen next and who is more fortunate because right now, everything depends on time and pure luck.
