Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5 dropped on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, bringing another twist and turn of events that will likely leave a huge impact on the Garvey sisters' lives. After Grace's death, Eva, Ursula, Bibi, and Becka continued with each of their lives, but grief was never away from them. It didn't help that they were still plagued with Grace's unexpected and mysterious death.
Throughout the past four episodes of Bad Sisters season 2, Fiona Shaw's Angelica Collins had been a mysterious character. Her modus operandi had always been inserting herself in the Garveys' lives, first by becoming Grace's "best friend." She also blackmailed Ursula in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 3 and got eerily close to Grace's daughter, Blanaid, much to Eva's displeasure.
The Garveys thought that they were rid of Angelica's insertion and meddling when they agreed to give her Grace's ashes. However, on the boat ride to scatter Grace's remains in the water, Angelica got into an accident when the boat's boom hit her in the head. She could be one more dead body that is going to haunt the Garvey sisters and reveal their darkest secrets.

Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5 sees Angelica get into an accident while on a boat with the Garveys
The final scenes of Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5 were tension-filled when the boom of the sailboat swung around and hit Angelica in the head. She fell into the water, and that was the last time Ursula, Bibi, and Becka saw Angelica before the episode ended.
The Garvey sisters, except for Eva, went with Angelica on a boat ride to scatter Grace's fake ashes. However, what was supposed to be a fairly uneventful journey in the water turned tense when Angelica accused Eva of making a play for John Paul years ago. When the sisters defended her, saying that JP r*ped Eva, Angelica didn't believe them, replying that the r*pe story was a convenient one to make up.
Ursula, Bibi, and Becka were horrified by Angelica's remarks, and at that point, it became obvious that they were never fond of the other woman. After all, Angelica has been inserting herself in their and Blanaid's life, if not extorting money from Ursula or getting Becka arrested in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 4.
However, out of nowhere, the book of the sailboat swung right into Angelica's head, and she fell right into the water. Horrified with the turn of events, the three Garvey sisters tried their might to find Angelica in the water, while Becka tried to call for help, but to no avail. They tried to move the boat around, looking for a trace of Angelica in the water, until Becka saw something.
Becka dove right into the freezing water, but unfortunately, it wasn't Angelica's body she saw. It was only debris, and Angelica was nowhere in sight. Bibi screamed "F*ck that wagon" angrily, and the camera showed a close-up look at the boom, which has a smear of blood on it.

Angelica had it against Eva in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5
On the boat ride with Angelica, only Ursula, Bibi, and Becka joined her. The oldest Garvey, Eva, was missing, and it was because Angelica had it against her throughout Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5. During their meeting with Angelica about a day out in the water to scatter Grace's ashes, she told Eva that she should sit the event out. Angelica told Eva:
"I don't think you've been respecting Grace's memory of late."
She insisted that Eva wouldn't be allowed to join the rest of them because she was accusing Eva and Ian of comforting each other "shamelessly." She also told the others that she didn't want Blanaid to go with them to protect her. Angelica also insisted that Ian doesn't go on the boat with them because she said she doesn't feel safe around him.

Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5 teases a brewing relationship between Eva and Ian
In Bad Sisters season 2, until the scene where Angelica accused Eva and Ian of comforting each other, the two had only been helping each other, especially in raising Blanaid. They'd been friendly and shared occasional hugs, but everything had looked platonic.
However, little comments and quips from Ian teased something brewing between them. When Eva admitted that she felt alone after Grace's death in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 2, Ian comforted her with a hug and a promise that he would never let her feel alone or that they would be alone together.
Additionally, after Eva found Blanaid, who had gone missing throughout the day, Ian comforted her again, and things got a little beyond platonic. When Eva had a mild panic attack about not being able to take care of Blanaid, Ian comforted her and kissed her. It left Eva looking at her dead sister's widower in shock.

Ian becomes a person of interest in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5
Before Grace's funeral in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 3, Ian had largely been missing. No one saw him after Grace confessed to killing JP, and he only returned right after Grace's funeral. In episode 5, Detective Houlihan starts to question Ian and his integrity.
Houlihan pointed out to Detective Loftus that Ian told them that he and Grace first met online, but she knew from Eva that the two met at Angelica's bereavement group.
Although Ian lied his way when Houlihan asked him about the inconsistency in his story, saying that the event was online at first, the detective started becoming wary of him. At one point in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 5, Loftus agreed that he would investigate Houlihan's hunch on Ian.
He went to his house and looked around, but he saw nothing suspicious until he went outside and saw the turtle pen. Looking inside, he found a wad of cash tucked inside a plastic bag and hidden under the soil.
