The Bad Sisters season 2 finale dropped on Apple TV+ a day earlier than the show's usual Wednesday release date ahead of Christmas Day. Premiered on Tuesday, December 24, the season finale answered a lot of questions and filled loopholes in the Garveys' story, especially about Grace's death.

Back in the second episode of the season, which was part of the back-to-back Bad Sisters season 2 premiere, the show killed off one of the older Garvey sisters, Grace. She had a fatal car crash after telling Eva's voicemail about having a problem and that she needed her.

The Bad Sisters season 2 finale revealed what happened shortly before Grace's accident in a flashback—she went to confront Ian about having a different identity. Ian told her that she was only "a mark" and proceeded to blackmail her into giving him money for his silence about Grace killing JP.

In the present, however, the remaining four Garvey sisters were getting the brunt of Ian's deceit, while Detective Houlihan was having a crisis after she discovered Ian's dangerous past.

Grace Garvey's death shocked fans when it happened in the final scene before the Bad Sisters season 2 episode 2 faded to black. She was anxious throughout that final scene, from hurriedly getting out of the house with a wad of cash inside a plastic bag down to her driving that night leading up to the accident. However, her accident and what led up to it were never resolved throughout season 2.

One of the theories repeated throughout the season was that Grace ran away with the money because police were starting to go after her for JP's death, and that's when she crashed. The theory came from Detective Loftus. Detective Houlihan, on the other hand, believed that Grace came from Angelica's house before the accident and that the money was somehow some payment to keep Angelica quiet about Grace killing JP.

However, only the Bad Sisters season 2 finale provided what really happened that fateful night that changed the lives of the Garveys throughout the season. In a flashback, the finale episode showed the events that happened between Grace's confession to Ian that she killed JP and the car crash that killed her.

It turns out that after Grace confesses to Ian about killing JP, Ian walks out in a hurry. He didn't notice that his phone was still charging. When Grace saw that Ian left his phone, she opened it to see a repeated number in Ian's call logs.

When she called the number, some woman on the other line asked Grace who she was and why she was calling using "Cormac's" phone. She also mentioned that she was Cormac's wife, which made Grace suspicious.

Recalling from the events in Bad Sisters season 2 episode 1, when Ian was supposedly missing, he called Grace and blackmailed her to give him cash in exchange for keeping quiet about Grace killing JP.

They planned to meet at the Dundalk bar, but Grace didn't want to pay Ian. She instead threatened him to keep away from her and her family, especially after Ian said that she was only "a mark" when she asked him if he ever loved her.

Ian was angry that Grace didn't do his bidding, so he followed her when she walked out of the bar, causing Grace to speed off. That was when she called Eva, only to get her voicemail, and had the car crash while anxiously looking for the earrings Bla gave her.

The Garveys thought Ian was dead in the Bad Sisters season 2 finale, only to get a scare

In a nerve-snapping tension, the Bad Sisters season 2 finale brought another dead body in the Garvey's midst, at least, that was what they thought, only to get the worst scare of their lives. Following the events of Bad Sisters season 2 episode 7, when Ian returned to Eva's house, she texted the rest of the sisters to come. There, the Garveys issued threats and accusations toward Ian, and vice versa.

They want Ian to return all of Bla's money he stole, but Ian says that they would be lucky if he didn't talk to the police about what he knows about Grace and the sisters. During their heated argument, Ian was talking things about Grace and mocking her, a loud smack can be heard before Ian fell right into the edge of the kitchen table.

What happened was that Angelica came to the Garveys' house to apologize, but she heard Ian talk nonsense about Grace, so she smacked him on the back of the head with Bla's camogie stick and helmet. He then fell and hit the front of his head on the table before falling unconscious on the floor, with blood pooling from the back of his head.

The scene was so bloody that the sisters thought he was dead. They were thinking about what to do with the body, and while their planning was halted when Houlihan arrived, they eventually planned to dump Ian's body on the cliff. They stuffed his body in the trunk of Bibi's car and drove there.

But as they opened the trunk, they got a huge scare when the boot popped up with a strange noise. They ran and hid, only to realize that it was a false alarm.

Another false alarm happened shortly after when they returned to the car to check on the body, which wasn't there anymore. It turned out that Ian was still alive, although a little banged up and woozy. When he saw the Garvey's there, he stepped away from them in horror, only to fall right down on the cliff.

Viewers would think that that would be the end of him, but Ian was still alive. In fact, the Bad Sisters season 2 finale ended with him well and recovering at the hospital, all things considered.

After Houlihan's discovery of Ian's dangerous past, she wanted to have him pay for all his mistakes. However, she was advised not to come after a fellow police officer if she wanted to get ahead in the department. That said, she ended up doing the right thing, in her own way, to get the bad cop what he deserved.

After Angelica confessed to Houlihan about what she did and what the Garveys did, she ended up asking the recently retired Loftus for help. They went to Ian at the hospital and threatened him about not being the only person who has connections in the force. They threatened to side with the Garveys' story if he decided to pursue suing the sisters for attempting to kill him.

While Houlihan won't be able to put Ian behind bars, her latest stunt in the Bad Sisters season 2 finale, with Loftus' help, will get rid of Ian from the Garvey sisters' lives.

The final scenes of the Bad Sisters season 2 finale with Eva, Ursula, Bibi, Becka, and Blanaid saying goodbye to Grace. They brought her ashes into the water, made a flower wreath for it, and had Grace's remains float into the water.

The event was a fast-forward months after Ian's return and accident on the cliff. Becka, who just found out that she was pregnant during Ian's return, already had a baby during the goodbye scene. Joe, who reunited with Becka off the screen, and Bibi's wife also tagged along during the event.
