The murderous Garvey sisters are back in the Irish black comedy drama Bad Sisters season 2, debuting on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, with back-to-back episodes. The new season brings a dose of turns and twists as new revelations surface two years after Grace killed her abusive husband.
Sharon Horgan, Sarah Greene, Eve Hewson, Anne-Marie Duff, and Eva Birthistle return as the five Garvey sisters whose present lives will be put in chaos after the discovery of a dead body. Irish actor Barry Ward will join them as Detective Loftus, who will continue to dig up the sisters' secrets.
This time around, a bunch of newcomers are joining the returning favorite characters in the series, including Harry Potter's Aunt Petunia actress Fiona Shaw and Thaddea Graham from Wreck.
Main cast and characters in Bad Sisters season 2
1) Sharon Horgan as Eva Garvey
Returning as the oldest Garvey sister, Eva, in Bad Sisters season 2 is Sharon Horgan. She became the matriarch figure to her sisters from a young age, and JP r*ped her many years ago, which ended in her miscarriage and infertility.
Sharon Horgan has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy as a lead actress and writer for Bad Sisters. She's been in dozens of shows and films like Catastrophe, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, This Way Up, and Military Wives.
2) Sarah Greene as Bibi Garvey
The Irish actress and singer is back to play one of the younger Garvey sisters, Bibi, in Bad Sisters season 2. Two years after she joined the plot of trying to kill her brother-in-law, she and her wife are looking to find an egg donor and expand their family.
Sarah Greene's acting credits include Dublin Murders, Sexy Beast, Normal People, and Penny Dreadful. She also starred in the TV series Ransom as the smart aspiring crisis and hostage negotiator Maxine Carlson.
3) Eve Hewson as Becka Garvey
The Irish actress reprises her role as Becka, the youngest Garvey sister who discovered JP's dead father's remains in the walk-in freezer in season 1. In Bad Sisters season 2, she has a new boyfriend named Joe, but her sisters are not big fans of her new guy.
Eve Hewson previously appeared in Bridge of Spies, The Knick, Enough Said, and Robin Hood. She also stars as Amelia Sacks in the recently released miniseries The Perfect Couple, starring Nicole Kidman.
4) Anne-Marie Duff as Grace Williams
The English actress returns in Bad Sisters season 2 to reprise her role as the murderous Grace Williams. She killed her husband, JP, in season 1, and two years down, she's in love with someone else and set to marry the new guy. However, Grace's fate in the rest of Bad Sisters season 2 is still uncertain.
Anne-Marie Duff has starred in TV shows Shameless, S*x Education, and Suspect. She also worked in movies The Magdalene Sisters, Sinners, Closed Circuit, and the award-winning period drama Suffragette.
5) Eva Birthistle as Ursula Flynn
The Irish actress rejoins the cast as Ursula, one of the older Garvey sisters. She's a nurse and has three children with a husband, she cheated on in Bad Sisters season 1. In Bad Sisters season 2, Ursula has broken away from her marriage and is single, but she's popping pills left and right, a secret her sisters don't know.
Eva Birthistle can be seen in A Fond Kiss, Brooklyn, and Imagine Me & You. She also starred as Hild in the TV series The Last Kingdom and Det. Supt. Sarah Cavendish in Walking the Dead.
6) Michael Smiley as Roger Muldoon
The Irish actor-director rejoins the cast as Roger, Grace's neighbor, who helped her cover up JP's death in the first season of Bad Sisters. In season 2, the guilt is eating him up, and he tells Grace that he wants to tell the police about what he did to help stage JP's "accident." He's also jealous of Grace's new husband.
Michael Smiley has appeared in Kill List, The Lobster, Ragdoll, and The Other Boleyn Girl. He also starred as Arnold in Bookworm and as Benny Silver, aka Deadhead, in Luther.
7) Fiona Shaw as Angelica Collins
The Primetime Emmy-nominated actress is one of the new faces in Bad Sisters season 2 as Angelica, Roger's awkward but protective and caring sister. She forged an off-screen bond with Grace, but their friendship fell out, and she's desperate to find out Grace's secrets. She also seems to know that Grace killed JP and claimed that Roger told her all about it.
Harry Potter fans may recognize Fiona Shaw as Aunt Petunia Dursley, but she also appeared in Killing Eve, True Detective, and Enola Holmes.
8) Owen McDonnell as Ian Reilly
The Galway-born actor is another newcomer joining the Bad Sisters season 2 cast. He's Ian Reilly in the Apple TV dark comedy series, Grace's new husband, who disappeared after Grace tells him about killing JP. Grace says that he just went away, but his disappearance could be another mystery.
Owen McDonnell can be seen in Single-Handed, Killing Eve, Dominion Creek, and Mount Pleasant. He also starred as Michael in Ghost Train and Joe in Great Expectations.
