Bad Sisters season 2 is set to drop on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, starting with a 2-episode premiere. The dark comedy series received high marks from critics during its first season, resulting in an impressive 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Irish series returns with its OG cast members and continues the story with new mysteries, greater thrills, and dangerous secrets.
Sharon Horgan, Anne-Marie Duff, Sarah Greene, Eva Birthistle, and Eve Hewson return for the second season, reprising their roles as the Garvey sisters. Bad Sisters, which Horgan created with Brett Baer and Dave Finkel, follows the tight-knit relationship of the five sisters, who, after their parents' deaths, promised that they would always protect one another.
Their story in Bad Sisters season 2 starts two years after Grace's (played by Duff) abusive husband died. The sisters have moved on. However, the past has a way of returning, and lies, secrets, and suspicions are bound to give them trust issues. Joining the Garvey sisters in the second season are Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw, Justin Mitchell, Thaddea Graham from S*x Education, and more.
When will Bad Sisters season 2 release?
The second season of Bad Sisters will premiere on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, two years after the season 1 finale. Two episodes will drop on the premiere date before shifting to a weekly schedule. A new episode will be released every Wednesday until the season ends on Christmas Day, December 25.
Bad Sisters season 2 plot
In anticipation of Bad Sisters season 2, Apple TV+ released a full-length trailer on October 22. That trailer catches up on the Garvey sisters, years after John Paul's murder in the first season. As they try to move on with their lives, authorities discover a dead body that is linked back to the sisters, and the grim discovery will put their newfound life and peace in chaos.
The Bad Sisters season 2 trailer also introduced Fiona Shaw's character, Angelica, who is set to uncover the sisters' deepest and darkest secrets.
The second season's official logline from Apple reads:
"Two years after the accidental death of Grace's abusive husband, the close-knit Garvey sisters have moved on, but when past truths resurface, the ladies are thrust back into the spotlight, suspicions are at an all-time high, lies are told, secrets revealed and the sisters are forced to work out who they can trust."
If the highly-rated debut season is anything to go by, season 2 is anticipated to have plenty of twists and turns that will leave the viewers reeling. Anne-Marie Duff previously teased the same during the July 10 episode of Dish from Waitrose podcast, saying:
"Oh, baby, there's a twist and turn! I can't tell you, I suspect there are snipers everywhere."
