The final moments of the series had fans rejoice as they finally got a glimpse of the arch-nemesis of the caped crusader, confirming that he will play the central antagonist in the later seasons.

The Joker is introduced in a chilling scene in which some of his victims lie deliriously on the floor with their eyes wide open and faces decorated with unfortunate smiles. They have been injected with laughing gas for the Clown Prince of Crime to investigate its effectiveness.

The scene reveals that the showmakers will stay close to the early versions of the comic series and present a darker and crazier version of The Joker in Batman: Caped Crusader.

Harvey Dent is one of the most intriguing comic book villains. It's a testament to the quality of Batman comics that almost every villain of the series is different yet iconic.

Harvey Dent presents the fragility of human morality and shows how close a hero is to becoming a villain. Batman never crosses that line, so he is a hero. Harvey crosses the line and becomes a villain despite having good intentions for the people.

The last episode of the series Savage Night revolves around Batman and Barbara Gordon trying to keep Harvey safe until he testifies in court. This leads to an all-out war among the criminals and heroes of the city. Amid the chaos, Barbara is shot by the dirty cop Flass, but Harvey comes in between her and the bullet, sacrificing himself for her.

Bruce calls Alfred by his first name for the first time in Batman: Caped Crusader

The death of Harvey Dent provoked Batman to such an extent that for a moment, he considered killing Flass with his hand, breaking his one unbreakable rule. However, he did not cross the line and stayed the hero Gotham needed.

While talking to Alfred in the car, Bruce calls him by his first name for the first time in the series. Batman: Caped Crusader, in its first season, presented a closed and grimmer version of the hero who doesn't even allow his butler into his life.

Calling Alfred by his first name suggests Bruce is ready to open up to certain people. This is perhaps the result of his various collaborations with people like James, Barbara, and Celina, which has shown him it's good to have people watching your back.

Secondly, Harvey's sacrifice for Barbara showed him that being close to people helps retain one's humanity and stops them from sliding into darkness. This growth in Batman's character and the introduction of The Joker have already created an exciting setup for the second season.

Batman: Caped Crusader season 1 is available on Prime Video for streaming. Fans can watch the animated series with a subscription.
