Beauty in Black is an upcoming American drama series set to release on Netflix. The show is created, directed and executive produced by the ace filmmaker Tyler Perry, who is known for his billion-dollar Madea film franchise. The series is part of Perry's multi-year first-look deal with Netflix, which he signed in October 2023.
Beauty in Black is about the collision of two worlds in Atlanta. The world of a wealthy hair care business family and a famous strip club called Magic City. The series will primarily follow two women, Kimmie and Mallory, played by Taylor Polidore Williams and Crystle Stewart, respectively.
Legends like Debbi Morgan and Richard Lawson are also part of the main cast of Beauty in Black, while Terrell Carter, Steven G. Norfleet, Julian Horton, Shannon Wallace, and several other actors are also part of the project.

1) Taylor Polidore Williams as Kimmie
Taylor Polidore Williams is playing Kimmie, one of the lead characters, who is struggling to make ends meet after her mother kicked her out. She starts working in a strip club, but soon her life takes a big turn as her life collides with a wealthy and dangerous business family.
Taylor Polidore Williams has previously worked with Tyler Perry in Divorce in the Black. She started her career with the comedy film Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins in 2008. Since then she has been part of projects like Snowfall, The Resident, Step Up: High Water, Wicked City, etc.
2) Crystle Stewart as Mallory
Crystle Stewert is playing Mallory, a successful and powerful businesswoman, who can go to any length to protect her image. Her life intertwines with that of Kimmie, creating some unexpected situations that neither of them was prepared for.
Crystle Stewert is a former beauty pageant winner and model. She held the title of Miss Texas and Miss USA in 2008 and also was one of the top 10 finalists of the Miss Universe competition that year. Her acting titles include House of Payne, Too Close to Home, and Tyler Perry's thriller Acrimony.
3) Ricco Ross as Horace
Ricco Ross is playing Horace in Beauty in Black, head of a powerful hair care business family and empire. He also owns the Magic City strip club and gets involved with the performers, including Kimmie and her friend.
Ricco Ross gained prominence with his role as Private Frost in the James Cameron film Aliens. He started his career with the popular soap The Young and the Restless and later worked on projects such as Gulliver's Travels, Mission Impossible, Fierce Creatures, Nate and the Colonel, and Hydra.
4) Debbi Morgan as Olivia
Debbie Morgan will be seen in Beauty in Black as Olivia. There isn't much information about her character as of yet. But from the trailer, it seems that Olivia is deeply involved with Horace's family business. In the trailer, Olivia says to Charles, "They are dangerous," to which he replies, "This entire family is dangerous." It can be assumed that Olivia is close to the family, yet not close enough to be out of their target zone.
Debbie Morgan is a legendary actress who has over five decades of work behind her. She is best known for her role as Angie Baxter–Hubbard on the ABC soap opera All My Children. Later she appeared in numerous films and shows including Charmed, Power, Our Kind of People, etc.
5) Richard Lawson as Norman
Richard Lawson is playing Norman. In the trailer, Olivia visits Norman in the hospital and says, "I've come here to pray with you," to which he replies, "You think God listens to you." From this exchange, it can be assumed that these two characters share a complicated past.
Richard Lawson is another veteran actor who has been in the entertainment business since 1971. Before being cast in Beauty in Black, the Vietnam War veteran portrayed Ryan in the 1982 film Poltergeist. He has also been part of shows like Dynasty, Chicago Story, Sister, Sister, Soul Food, The Bernie Mac Show, The Division, All in the Family, and Strong Medicine.
