Beef season 2 will be coming back with four new cast members. On October 23, 2024, Netflix announced that the series' new season will feature Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny. The series' first season originally centered on a road rage incident between Steven Yeun and Ali Wong.
It received a positive response at the Emmys and garnered eight awards, and the story now takes a pivot in season two. The official logline declared that Beef season 2 will be set with the story of a young married couple who have already witnessed a shocking argument between their boss and his wife.
This encounter sets off a series of coercive moves within the elite world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner. The new season will have eight episodes, each 30 minutes long, with Lee Sung Jin returning as the creator and showrunner.
Who are the new cast members of Beef season 2?
Oscar Isaac
Isaac has joined the cast of Beef season 2. He is known for his versatile roles in the films and television shows he has starred in. Born in Guatemala City on March 9, 1979, he was taken to the United States as an infant. Isaac made a talent showcase for his role as Llewyn Davis in the Coen Brothers' movie Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe.
Isaac is also significantly recognized for portraying Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequel trilogy (2015-2019). The other film-based works of Isaac include A Most Violent Year (2014), Ex Machina (2015), and Dune (2021). He also appeared in the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero (2015), for which he won a Golden Globe.
His most recent works include Moon Knight (2022) and Hand of Dante (2024), where he starred alongside Gerard Butler, Al Pacino, Jason Momoa, and Gal Gadot. He will feature as a voice cast in The King of Kings animation.
Carey Mulligan
Cary Mulligan will star in Beef season 2 alongside Oscar Isaac as a lead. She is an award-winning actress with huge experience in film and stage. Born on 28 May 1985 in London, she gained recognition for her role in An Education in 2009, earning her Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
She has then acted in movies such as Never Let Me Go (2010), Drive (2011), and Promising Young Woman (2020). She won critical acclaim and earned an Oscar nomination for the role in this dark comedy-thriller. She also played some stage plays, which include The Seagull and Skylight.
Carey Mulligan also stars in the biographical film Maestro (2024), which tells the life story of famous composer Leonard Bernstein.
Charles Melton
Another member to be added to the cast of Beef Season 2 is Charles Melton. He acted in the television series Riverdale as Reggie Mantle. Born on January 1, 1991, in Juneau, Alaska, Melton has appeared in films such as The Sun Is Also a Star and May December, released in 2019 and 2023, respectively.
He received a Golden Globe nomination for May December. His other significant works include Bad Boys for Life, Bad Boys: Ride or Die, Heart of Champions, Secret Headquarters, American Horror Story, History of the World Part II, and Mainstream.
Cailee Spaeny
Another addition to the cast of Beef Season 2 is Cailee Spaeny. She was born on July 24, 1997, in Springfield, Missouri. Cailee Spaeny has starred in the movies Pacific Rim Uprising (2018), Alien: Romulus (2024), Civil War (2023), and Priscilla (2023, where she plays the lead role, Priscilla Presley). Directed by Sofia Coppola, this biographical drama features Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Presley.
