Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6, titled Baggage, brings families together for a summer in Bel-Air, but baggage and old wounds have a way of creeping up and making a mess of the present.

With the Banks family, especially Viv, and Phil, finally reconciled in the previous episode, Will Smith was inspired to aim for the same reconciliation in his own family. He sent his mom a text in the last scenes of Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 5, asking her to spend the summer in Bel-Air with him.

In one way, it can be said that family reunions are at the forefront of the second half of the reimagined 1990s sitcom Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. However, family dynamics come with some baggage, and plenty of it spills into the latest episode, including Will's father, Lou's past.

After he invited his mom to Bel-Air, they had a family reunion with Lou who reluctantly revealed about his childhood and why he was in prison. Follow along to find out what happens at the end of Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6.

Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6 reunites Will and his parents

In the previous episode, Getting Personal, Will finds inspiration to seek reconciliation for his family after witnessing the Bankses work on their family problems. So, he texts his mom, Vy, saying that he needs her in Los Angeles.

Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6 starts with the mother-son duo reuniting and enjoying a drive towards the Banks mansion in Bel-Air. But unknown to Vy, she wasn't there simply to visit her son for the summer. Will wanted to have their parents together so they could talk, but Vy, who doesn't have a lot of good memories with Will's father, Lou, doesn't want anything to do with it.

What changed Vy's mind was one of her conversations with Viv. As Vy seemingly blames Viv for being too soft with Will when he decides to quit basketball, Viv tells her that a lot of Will's hang-ups are because of Lou. She says that when Will learned about Lou loving the sport, he decided that he didn't want anything that related him to his father.

Hearing this, Vy starts to realize that maybe a talk with the three of them—her, Will, and Lou—would be good for their kid. But she has one condition—she doesn't want to bring the mess of their family to the Banks house.

With Vy finally agreeing to have "the talk," the three meet up at the place where Carlton attends his AA meetings. At first, Lou and Vy are not keen on opening up and it reaches a point where Vy is about to walk out, but Will stops her. What started as an obvious animosity from both his parents quickly turned into a pseudo-therapy session as soon as Lou started opening up about his past.

Fitting to the Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6 title, Baggage, Lou begins to unload his childhood hang-ups, including about having his parents die when he was a teen and having to move in with his grandparents.

He also opens up about the robbery issue, which Vy clarifies saying that, what happened that night wasn't all Lou's fault. She says that she was the one who told Lou to get what he was owed from the man who employed him, but it quickly turned for the worse for him that night, leading to him spending years in prison.

In the end, Will gets his much-needed closure at the end of Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6 from both his parents. He finally knows that his father didn't abandon him for no reason. He's also hopeful that he can have another sit-down talk with both Lou and Vy maybe next year, to which Vy jokingly said that they could do it maybe every two years.

Will's relationship with Lou gets better as the final scenes of the episode see them playing basketball and joking with each other.

Geoffrey's baggage from the past comes back to haunt him

While Will's family reunion ends up for the better, Geoffrey's life, on the other hand, turns for the worse. The life in the "organization," which he left a long time ago, is trying to mess with his present and threaten his son Frederick's safety.

Together with Frederick's mom, Penelope, who came to Bel-Air from London in the previous episode, they met with Roman, who is still very much part of the organization. Roman tells him that the organization wants him back and that he has to pay his debts by serving time, or else his son will pay the price for his sins. Meanwhile, Geoffrey is adamant about not going back to his old life, but with Frederick's life threatened, he doesn't think that he has any choice in the matter.

After he meets with Roman, Geoffrey talks to Phil, saying that his hands are tied, saying that he knows what his priority is, which is to make sure everyone is safe—his family as well as the Banks family. While Phil tells him that there is always another way, Geoffrey doesn't look hopeful.

But in a turn of events at the end of Bel-Air Season 3 Episode 6, he presents Roman with a bag full of cash he was hiding in the punching bag in his house. He then tells him that he's not going back and that Roman simply needs to convince the organization that the cash is enough payment for whatever he did in the past.
