Will reveals his secret participation in the vandalism
In the previous episode of Bel-Air season 3, Carlton discovered that Will was involved in the Campbell Square vandalism that later resulted in arson.
He puts two and two together after seeing Will trying to hide the balaclava that he had used to conceal his face that night. Carlton was angry at Will about it and gave him an ultimatum. He told Will that he could either come clean about his participation in the crime to Phil or Carlton would tell Will's father about it.
The issue was sidelined in the rest of episode eight due to other tragic events, but Carlton opened it up again at the beginning of episode 9. When Viv and Phil were grilling Carlton about his sobriety after learning about Amira's OD, in a moment of frustration, he shifted focus toward Will. He told his parents that Will was present at Campbell Square on the night of the vandalism attack.
Viv was visibly upset about Will's participation and reprimanded him before making him call his mother to tell her what he had done. The conversation wasn't shown to the viewers, but many guessed how it could have gone.
Like Viv, after learning about Will's involvement in the vandalism, Lisa was also upset at Will and lashed out at him. However, her anger towards Will was mostly because she thought he didn't care about what happened to Amira and wanted to brush it off before moving on with Blackccess. She then told Will to own up to his mistakes before walking off.
The episode of Bel-Air season 3 then saw Will deciding to own up to his mistakes as he went to see the Police Chief, who was also Lisa's father. He told Chief Fred that he was there at Campbell Square on the night of the vandalism. Will then reveals that he knew that Jazz wasn't the one who caused the fire. He also told the chief that he was willing to go on record about the night and wasn't afraid of the consequences he would face.
Bel-Air Season 3 episode 9 showed Fred turning off a recorder, implying that Will gave his testimony, ultimately clearing Jazz's name. However, Phil and Viv arrived at the station and told Will that his statement was inadmissible because he was a minor. They informed him that for his words to be admissible in court, he would need to be with a guardian while giving his statement.
