Betrayal Podcast - Where is the convicted doctor Justin Rutherford now?

Justin Rutherford was a respected doctor from the Amity Township in Berks County, Pennsylvania. As discussed in the Betrayal podcast season 3, he lived a picture-perfect family life in Pennsylvania with his wife, Stacey Rutherford.

The pair met in 2015 when Justin was still a medical student. Stacey Rutherford was a single mother at the time and fell in love with Justin. The pair eventually settled in Berks County, Pennsylvania where Justin established his career as a family doctor.

As a family doctor, Justin treated various patients including children and teenagers. However, Stacey Rutherford had no idea that Justin was a s*xual predator in disguise and preyed on his patients without their knowledge. It was only in 2021 when Stacey Rutherford got to know that her husband was a r*pist and used to record people with a camera without their consent.

Justin Rutherford's crimes were first discovered by a 13-year-old boy in July 2021. The teenager discovered a small black camera while taking a shower at a friend's house.

When the camera was submitted to the police, they discovered that the house where the camera was plugged belonged to Justin Rutherford. Upon further investigation, the police retrieved more than 2800 videos and around 1400 still photographs of undressed people.

They uncovered that Justin used to record people with a hidden camera when they used the house's bathroom. The videos and photographs also contained images of children and teenagers.

Eventually, two male teenagers came forward accusing Justin Rutherford of s*xually assaulting them. The Betrayal podcast focuses on the true crime story through the lens of these two victims. One of the victims claimed that Rutherford abused them after intoxicating them with alcohol and marijuana.

The other victim disclosed that Rutherford had been s*xually assaulting him for over five years. In a shocking turn of events, the twisted doctor even tried to get one of the victims killed while he was awaiting trial under police custody. However, the murder attempt was intercepted by the police.

In 2022, Justin Rutherford pleaded guilty to r*pe of an unconscious person, r*pe of a child, invasion of privacy, and s*xual abuse of multiple children. The Pennsylvania court sentenced Justin to 26 years and 10 months to 70 years in prison.

He is currently serving his prison sentence at the State Correctional Institution – Albion at 10745 PA-18 in Albion, Pennsylvania. Episode 5 of season 3 of the Betrayal podcast titled The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania vs. Justin Rutherford provides a detailed account of the case proceedings.
