Meanwhile, Danny and Ray welcomed a new team member, an unusual banker to supposedly help safeguard their money.

Bookie season 2 episode 3 sees Danny and Ray's new team member run away with their money
Bookie season 2 episode 3's official logline teased Danny and Ray employing an unconventional banker, but this new team member might not be as trustworthy as Danny and Ray initially thought.
While at the bank to take out a deposit, an unconventional banker named Gregory, whom Danny and Ray had been working with for a while, revealed that he had been let go. He also told the duo that he knew what they were doing, what their business was, and that he could be a great help for them.
After some initial proposition from Gregory, the three of them went for a meal at a diner, where Gregory told them all about safeguarding their money. He told them all about how keeping their money in a safety deposit box could shrink their cash over time because of inflation. He suggested investing their cash in "money market accounts" and other savings accounts.
Part of his pitch was giving Danny and Ray assurance that their money would be undetectable by the IRS, so they wouldn't have any problem in the future. In the end, Danny and Ray agreed to give Gregory a test run for $1,000,000, and he would have a 20% cut of the proceeds for managing their portfolio.

It appeared like their business partnership with Gregory was off to a great start, with Danny and Ray visiting him in his house to check out some papers. They found out that Gregory was living with his ailing mother, which eased Ray's worry about him a bit.
After Gregory gave them some papers supposedly outlining their investments, Danny mentioned having another half a million dollars in the car and wanted to include it in the investment portfolio that Gregory was running.
At first, Gregory seemed troubled about having more money to manage, but he said he would make it work. However, in the final scene of Bookie season 2 episode 3, Gregory was seen going into a private jet that was about to take off.
He was carrying a duffel bag that looked like the one Danny used for storing his money. He also wouldn't let the flight attendant touch the duffel bag, hinting that he could be running with Danny and Ray's money.

Sandra still won't tell Danny where the money is in Bookie season 2 episode 3
Back when Sandra left Danny in Bookie season 1, part of their settlement was the $500,000 cash, which she was still holding away from Danny in Bookie season 2 episode 3. When Danny asked her if the money could be back to the community pool now that they had reconciled, Sandra didn't want to do it.
She told Danny that the cash was her "God forbid" money, and she won't be parting with it. When Danny asked what she meant by that statement, Sandra explained that the cash was for her if God forbid, something happened to Danny.
When Danny argued that nothing would happen to him, and what if something happened to Sandra, she sarcastically quipped that if anything happened to anyone, it would be Danny and not her. She also explained why she wasn't telling Danny where the money was, saying that if he didn't know where it was, he wouldn't squeal in case he got tortured.

While everything happened offscreen, Bookie season 2 episode 3 implied that Wendy had an affair with the neighbor. Danny even found him sneaking off Wendy's room at midnight. When Danny confronted him about it, the guy told him that his wife hadn't touched him in the last two years.
The neighbor, Nate, also implied that what he had with Wendy wasn't a one-night stand and asked Danny to keep quiet about the affair until they figured out what their next move was.
But the following day, the man's wife, Helen, stormed into Danny's home in anger, looking for Wendy, who had snuck out of the house on a bike. That night, Sandra and Danny heard some gunshots while having dinner, and Sandra asked him to check out the neighbor's house.
While there, Helen opened the door on Danny while holding a gun, and when he inquired about Nate, Helen said that he was dead. Helen had called the police already, she said. And as Danny was about to leave Helen's house, she killed herself. Nate dying had Wendy sobbing in hysterics at the end of Bookie season 2 episode 3.
