The ups and downs in Danny's world of sports betting continue in Bookie season 2 episode 4, as he juggles dealing with his remaining shady clients and his family woes. In the latest episode, which dropped on Max (formerly HBO Max) on Thursday, January 2, 2025, his mother-in-law Wendy remains one of Danny's problems.
Since Wendy came home with Sandra in Bookie season 2 episode 1, she's been a thorn in Danny's home life. Danny wants her gone from the house, and he's even more insistent on getting Wendy packing after she got involved with the married neighbor in the previous episode, which ended in a tragic murder-suicide.
However, Danny ends up changing his mind about sending Wendy out of the house after they have had a conversation one night. Wendy, who appeared remorseful about the incident with the neighbor, said something that convinced Danny to give her a second chance. Meanwhile, Danny's change of mind made Sandra ecstatic.

Bookie season 2 episode 4 sees Danny change his mind about wanting Wendy gone
Bookie season 2 episode 4 kicked off with the aftermath of the murder-suicide that happened in Bookie season 2 episode 3, following Wendy's affair with the married neighbor. The police and the press are having a field day, and Danny has had enough of Wendy's antics.
He wanted her out of the house, something he insisted on Sandra. However, Sandra didn't agree because she didn't want to send her mom packing, especially after the devastating news of her lover's death.
While Sandra reasoned that no one could have seen the incident coming, Danny reminded her of how many of Wendy's exes she buried. However, Sandra is also insistent that Wendy stays, and it causes a little argument between them, ending with Danny making a stand, saying:
"Pack her in a box, call UPS, she got to go."
However, Danny had a change of heart one night in Bookie season 2 episode 4. Wendy approached him to talk and asked for a second chance. She also told Danny that it would be better if she were at the house because Sandra tends to "go to extremes" whenever she's not around.
Wendy also told Danny about the times she was briefly engaged to someone on death row and smuggling dr*gs in her snapper, which shocked Danny.
At one point, Wendy implied that she was the reason that things were "fantastic" in Danny and Sandra's bedroom. In the end, she convinced Danny to let her stay, but Danny asked her to make it look to Sandra that it was his idea to have Wendy stay at the house.
And, when he broke the news to Sandra, she was ecstatic, and it ended with a romantic night in the hot tub for Danny.

Hector and Lorraine's fallout plays out in Bookie season 2 episode 4
Back in Bookie season 2 episode 3, Hector found out that Lorraine had singled him out of their psychedelic mushroom business. He found out about Walt, so he went to Walt's house.
As seen in Bookie season 2 episode 4, he told Walt all about him being half the business, or even 70/30, to which Walt replied that they have to make it right.
Meanwhile, Lorraine still doesn't know about Hector going to Walt, but she experiences a plot twist later. When she visited the storage space where she kept the mushrooms, she found the place trashed and without the goods. She called Walt about the problem, and Hector also arrived at the scene later on.
Lorraine and Hector argued about who could have messed with the products, with each of them pointing their finger at the other. Meanwhile, Walt was calling them kids for how they were acting.
At the end of Bookie season 2 episode 4, Walt, however, can be seen at a party soft launching his new business—the psychedelic mushrooms. He also introduced a partner, the psychedelic doctor Nancy, which was supposed to be Lorraine's role, per their initial agreement in Bookie season 2 episode 2.
It's yet to be revealed if Walt's new business venture is his and Hector's idea, per their conversation early in the episode, or if he f*cked Hector and Lorraine over and took the business for himself.

Bookie season 2 episode 4: Title meaning explored
Bookie season 2 episode 4 is titled Make It Look Like an Accident, which was what Ray told Danny when he said he wanted Wendy gone from the house. Both Danny and Ray had been facing their own family problems since the beginning of the season, with Danny wanting to get rid of Wendy and Ray having to take care of Grandma Marian and the ailing Frank.
They've been each other's sounding boards about whatever problems they're facing at home. So, during one of the rounds they're making to some of their shady clients in Bookie season 2 episode 4, Danny tells him, "I gotta get rid of Sandra's mother." Ray replied:
"Word to the wise, make it look like an accident."
Ray probably thought Danny wanted to get rid of Wendy, like make her disappear for good, which wouldn't be so far off given the dangerous lives they lead. They referred to the same line again during a phone call, with Danny saying it to Ray this time.
Ray, who was dealing with her baby mama number two, Janelle, who arrived at his house out of the blue, told Danny that he had taken care of the problem with Janelle. On the other side of the phone, Danny asked him in jest:
"What, you make it look like an accident?"

Grandma Marian killed Frank in Bookie season 2 episode 4
The final scene of Bookie season 2 episode 4 showed Ray running towards Frank's room when Grandman Marian shouted for him. There, she told Ray that Frank was dead, but Ray asked his grandma why she was holding a pillow.
While it wasn't shown onscreen, it's implied that Grandma Marian smothered Frank with the pillow because she had enough of taking care of him. Early in the episode, Grandma Marian had been grumbling about having to change his diapers.
And while she said she prayed for a man who wasn't bossy or opinionated, she didn't mean someone in Frank's condition.
