Initially titled Dr. Wolf, Brilliant Minds is an upcoming medical drama series created by Michael Grassi. The series is simply inspired by two of the world-renowned case histories: The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and An Anthropologist on Mars, by the globally acclaimed neurologist and author, Oscar Sacks.
The series was announced to be in development at Fox in November 2019, but the production house didn’t go forward with the project. However, NBC eventually stepped in, saving the medical drama and giving it a straight-to-series order in 2023. Follow along with the article to learn more.
When will Brilliant Minds be released?
Brilliant Minds is scheduled to be released on September 23, 2024. The first season of the series is slated for a whopping 15-episode run. While the episodes’ runtime hasn’t been revealed yet, fans can expect it to be around 40 to 44 minutes.
The series was likely to be released a little earlier, but due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023. The filming of Brilliant Minds, which kicked off on April 8, 2024, took place in Toronto, Canada. The production wrapped up on August 23, 2024.
Besides being the showrunner, Grassi is also executively producing Brilliant Minds besides Greg Berlanti, Lee Toland Krieger, Jonathan Cavendish, Leigh London Redman, DeMane Davis, Melissa Aouate, Sarah Schechter, Andy Serkis, Will Tennant, and Henrik Bastin.
Additionally, Grassi Productions, Berlanti Productions, The Imaginarium, Warner Bros. Television, Universal Television, and Fabel Entertainment are producing the series.
