Chicago Med season 10 episode 9: Did Sharon Goodwin survive?

Sharon Goodwin’s terrifying ordeal in Chicago Med season 10 episode 9, began when a woman, the wife of a former patient, stormed into her office and accused her of causing the death of her spouse. The woman blamed Sharon for prioritizing another patient’s blood transfusion over her wife’s, even though the woman’s condition was far too serious to be saved.

Overwhelmed by sadness and anger, the woman tried to stab Sharon in an act of revenge. As Sharon struggled to defend herself, she was stabbed multiple times. The attack was stopped when Dr. Archer, who was heading towards Sharon to quit his job, heard her screaming for help. He quickly came to her rescue, stopped the attacker, and made sure Sharon was safe.

Archer then took Sharon to the Emergency Department (ED), where she received immediate treatment for her injuries. The hospital staff, including Maggie, made sure the attacker was arrested and transferred to another facility for treatment.

Despite the trauma, Sharon faced additional challenges as her children had to make critical decisions regarding her health. Sharon’s daughter, who was worried about the dangers of surgery, picked a simpler option, hoping to avoid severe complications.

However, Sharon was in grave condition, and Dr. Archer believed that a more complex surgery could significantly improve her chances of survival. Ignoring what the children wanted, Archer took a bold step and performed the high-risk surgery. Fortunately, his decision paid off, and Sharon survived.

Later, Sharon woke up and saw Archer by her side. He told her she had almost died. They talked about how serious her condition was, and Sharon thanked him for taking such a big risk to help her.

Chicago Med season 10 episode 9: The misconduct complaint

In Chicago Med season 10 episode 9, the conflict between Dr. Charles and Dr. Sarah Reese got much worse. Reese officially complained about Charles for acting unprofessionally. The complaint stemmed from a situation involving one of Reese’s patients, a woman who had been prescribed placebo pills to help manage her depression.

Charles had intervened when the patient attempted to overdose on the pills. Concerned for the patient's safety, he placed her on a suicide hold, which led to the filing of the complaint. The mediation meeting, which included the hospital’s lawyer, was a crucial moment. Dr. Reese explained that she believed Charles had disrespected her authority and broken her trust by acting without asking her first.

Charles, however, stood by his actions, saying his main concern was the patient’s safety and that he had to act quickly to avoid a disaster.

As the investigation continued, both doctors teamed up to find out the truth about the patient’s condition. They found out that the patient had Episodic Memory Loss (EML), a condition that made her forget that she had already taken her medicine, leading to an overdose.

This discovery changed their focus from mental health to a physical problem that had not been correctly identified before. Charles and Reese understood that their first approach was wrong, but they managed to fix their mistake and agree on a more accurate diagnosis.

By the end of the episode, Dr. Reese took back her complaint, realizing that Charles had only been worried about the patient’s safety. Even though the case impacted their personal dynamics, it helped them grow closer as they worked through their disagreements to find the best solution for their patients.

Chicago Med season 10 episode 9: Who is Allie?

In Chicago Med season 10 episode 9, the viewers were introduced to Allie, a young girl with a complex medical background. She was a patient of Dr. Abrams. Allie has had two brain surgeries before, but the experience left her feeling fragile and insecure, especially about her bald head.

When she came in for another surgery, Allie was very clear that she didn’t want her hair to be shaved off this time. She insisted that she wouldn’t go through with the surgery unless Dr. Abrams promised her that her hair would stay untouched.

To make things go according to her, Allie even criticized Abrams’ skills as a brain surgeon, mentioning an article that questioned his abilities. To make things harder, she shared that she had been bullied at school because of how she looked, so losing her hair again would be traumatic.

Dr. Abrams didn’t know how to handle the situation but Dr. Frost stepped in and tried to connect with Allie and come up with a clever solution. Frost offered to shave his own head to match her. Allie, thrilled by the idea of having a “bald buddy,” agreed to undergo the surgery with Abrams.

In the end, the surgery went well, and Allie’s hair stayed safe. Abrams, who has three older sisters and a daughter, even braided Allie’s hair after the surgery.
