What happens in Chicago P.D. season 12 episode 8?
Ever since his near-death experience at the end of season 11, Hank Voight has been a changed man, thinking more and more about his mortality and his purpose in life. Additionally, the death of the young officer Martel in episode 1 of season 12 also leaves a permanent mark on him.
All of these developments play out in episode 8. After a botched-up investigation, the Internal Affairs Department starts looking into the actions of Chicago P.D.’s officers. Sensing that his team could be in danger, Hank takes a grave personal risk and alters evidence in order to protect his team members.
It is hinted in the episode that Internal Affairs can guess the involvement of Voight in the criminal offense of tampering with evidence. Further, his team is split into factions, one standing by him no matter what and the other prioritizing their career.
Further, the death of Martel haunts the latest episode of the show. Adam Ruzek was present with Martel when she was shot in the line of duty. Episode 8 shows an increasingly paranoid Ruzek who keeps worrying about the safety of his partners and goes the extra mile to ensure that no harm comes their way.
