True-to-life sports drama series Clipped episode 4 is slated to release on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. The series chronicles the scandalous 2013-14 season of the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team and its former owner, Donald Sterling.

The sports drama brought together by FX and Hulu, inspired by ESPN’s The Sterling Affairs podcast, made a double-header release on June 4. In the latest episode, the LA Clippers organization faced the scandal's aftermath from Sterling’s recently leaked audio. The team, in particular, who are in the middle of their first playoff season, struggle with the choice of whether to play or boycott their upcoming game with the Warriors.

Thinking of boycotting the game, coach Rivers was able to make the team agree to continue with the game. That said, the Clippers protested by wearing their training kits backward, seemingly sending a message that they are playing as a unit but not as Donald Sterling’s team.

Although still relatively unbothered, Sterling's troubles are set to escalate in the upcoming episode 4, which would force him and the people around him to address the issue publicly.

Clipped episode 3 brief recap

Clipped episode 3 saw Doc Rivers and the Clippers debate how to proceed after Sterling’s controversial audio was leaked.

Some players contemplated boycotting the first round of the playoffs against the Golden State Warriors but later decided against it with the help of coach Rivers. They did, however, make an unmistakable statement when they entered the court wearing their warm-up attire inside out to hide the Clippers logo.

Meanwhile, the NBA wanted to interrogate Sterling about the scandal, but he kept quiet instead of facing the firing line. Shelly, his wife, answered NBA’s questions in his stead. She also tried to defend Sterling. by placing the blame on Sterling’s mistress, whom she called a “career criminal.” She said that V was ill-intentioned for recording the audio because she claimed Sterling was under the influence at the time.

As for Cleopatra Coleman’s V. Stiviano, she remained quiet about the controversy but has started to court media attention by posing for the paparazzi.

What to expect in Clipped episode 4?

Clipped episode 4 is titled Winning Ugly, which foretells the escalating backlash Donald Sterling and the LA Clippers are about to face. As Sterling hasn’t apologized for his racist remarks, the NBA, who had already started questioning his wife in the previous episode, will begin to take action against him.

Meanwhile, V. Stiviano, who, for most of the previous episode, has remained sidled on the controversy but continues to pose for the paparazzi, could finally start to address the media in the upcoming episode.

The short synopsis of the fourth episode reads:

“Behind every great fortune is the opportunity to sell the f out.”

The first three episodes of Clipped are now available on Hulu.
