A cute dog unites two strangers

The series begins with a recently broken-up and drunk Ashley flashing Gordon, a local brewery owner who is driving his car. Gordon hits a dog, injuring his spine and making him permanently dependent on wheels to move. Both Ashley and Gordon feel responsible for the terrible accident and decide to look after the dog, whom they name Colin.

Due to her non-pet-loving landlord, Ashley moves in with Gordon to help take care of Colin. However, several things happen in their personal life that keep them occupied, like Gordon meets Ashley's toxic mother Lynelle. Meanwhile, Ash's party-loving friend Megan starts to develop affection towards Gordon's business partner, Chiara.

Amidst all the changes and settlement, Ashley and Gordon start developing feelings for each other and almost end up in bed. However, Gordon refuses to move forward due to a medical procedure he went through earlier to check for testicular cancer. Unfortunately, he doesn't provide this information to Ashley, who now thinks Gordon doesn't want to be with her.

Eventful parties make and break the relationship

Episodes 6 and 7 are both centered around two parties that turn out to be too eventful for the pair. In episode 6, The Good Room, Ashley's birthday is celebrated at her mother and her creepy boyfriend's house. Lynelle embarrasses Ashley multiple times throughout the night and even brings up her dead friend Alejandro, who died when Ashley was 22.

Ashley blames herself for not being able to save Alejandro through proper CPR, and his mention pushes her over the edge. Gordon comforts her and even confronts Lynelle for being unsupportive of her daughter. By the end of this episode, the duo's relationship becomes strong. However, it hits a rough patch in the next episode.

In episode 7 titled Bandit, Gordon throws a birthday party for Ashley at his brewery and invites her rowdy party-loving friends who make Gordon uncomfortable. Gordon loses his cool eventually and throws everyone out, embarrassing Ashley on her birthday. The couple break up after a heated argument.

What happened at the end of Colin From Accounts season 1?

In the season finale of Colin From Accounts, Ashley finds a poster put up by Colin's real owner. She and Gordon take Colin to his real owner's home. But the owner refuses to take him back after realizing that he is not like before anymore and would require much more care.

The leading duo finds a dog shelter for Colin but is not convinced to leave him there, considering the poor condition of the place. Later, the two decide to give Colin to Brett's neighbor, Phoebe. They try to make peace with a life without Colin and each other, but soon realize their love for the dog and one another.

In the end, the duo decides to reconcile and bring Colin back into their lives permanently. Season 2 of Colin from Accounts will see Ashley and Gordon moving back in together and trying to make an effort to bring their beloved dog back home.
