The first season of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew concluded on January 14, 2025. Episode 8 of the series, titled The Real Good Guys, premiered on the platform and brought a close to season 1 of the show. However, as of now, a second season of the series hasn't been confirmed by Disney+ yet even though the finale does leave many unanswered questions and setups that are yet to be revealed.
But, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew creators Jon Watts and Christopher Ford have revealed that they would love to come back and make another season of the show. Talking to TechRadar on January 14, 2025, the creators revealed that they have plans for a second season, but wanted the first season to feel like a story in its own right.
"Yeah, we wanted to make sure this season had a satisfying beginning, middle, and end. But, if people want to see more Skeleton Crew, we'd be happy to make more," said Watts.
"We're dreaming of it [a second season]," continued Ford. "We've come up with different possibilities, so never say never."
Following the release of the season finale, it's still unclear whether Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will receive a second season. Till then, fans can check out all the episodes of the Star Wars series on Dsiney+ right now.
What can fans expect from a potential Star Wars: Skeleton Crew season 2?
The Star Wars: Skeleton Crew season finale leaves a few open threads that can be expanded upon in a potential season 2 of the show. Most importantly, the mystery behind At Attin still exists, and even though a bunch about the planet was already revealed in the series, there are still some unanswered questions about it.
Most importantly, the Supervisor of At Attin reveals to Jod that the last they heard about the Jedi, it was revealed that they were traitors. This effectively sets up the fact that At Attin hasn't had outside communication with anyone since the Republic's fall at least. This means that the planet might have been safeguarded following that event and they still don't know about the Empire's fall and more.
Aside from that, Jod is also alive at the end of the show. With him not having the pirates anymore and being on his own, the second season can still present some interesting arcs for him. With him on At Attin now, of course, there will be some hell to pay for him. Fans can also expect to see the planet try and rebuild itself again after the attack.
