Creature Commandos episode 4, titled Chasing Squirrels, premiered on Max on December 19, 2024. It focused on Weasel's origins and exactly why he was innocent and didn't commit the crimes he was accused of. The episode also delved further into Circe's motivations for wanting to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic and showcased a dark future as she is still alive and breathing.
Creature Commandos episode 4 certainly builds up the second half of the season in a huge way. Over here, fans also get to see their first looks at the DCU Batman, Wonder Woman, and more in Circe's vision. With the Creature Commandos now being tasked to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic, it looks like going forward the show will focus on Rick Flag Sr. making sure that the Princess isn't harmed.
Creature Commandos episode 4 - Weasel is innocent
In The Suicide Squad, it is revealed that Weasel was responsible for allegedly murdering 27 children. However, Creature Commandos episode 4 brought that number down to eight and focused more on his backstory and how he was innocent.

When Weasel's lawyer approaches him, he is shown the photo of a little girl which starts triggering some flashbacks.
In the flashbacks, it is shown that Weasel stumbled upon a bunch of kids playing in a park and immediately befriended them. In particular, he formed a close friendship with a little girl, but when the groundskeeper found the children playing with him, he immediately called the police.
Weasel and the children then found a back entrance to the school and were playing around there until a fire broke out.
The groundskeeper arrived in time and immediately started firing at Weasel which caused an explosion. It killed the children there, but Weasel and the little girl survived it.
Weasel then tried saving the little girl, but the police came on the spot and started firing at him. After being shot at, Weasel wasn't able to save the girl as the floor came down crashing on her.
So, while Weasel is still a dangerous monster in his own right, he didn't really commit the crimes he was accused of and is actually innocent.
Why did Circe want to kill Ilana Rostovic?
In the show, it is originally revealed that Circe is using the Sons of Themyscira to take over Pokolistan so that she can then invade Themyscira too. However, Creature Commandos episode 4 flips that narrative on its head.
Instead, it is revealed that Circe was trying to kill Princess Ilana Rostovic so that she can save the world as she suspects the Princess may not be good after all.
With Circe having the powers of clairvoyance, she shows Amanda Waller her vision of the future where the Princess is causing nuclear attacks everywhere and ruling the world.
Superheroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are dead and no one is there to save humanity. Waller believes Circe on this and then pivots to wanting to kill Ilana Rostovic.
However, Rick Flag Sr. doesn't want anything to with this as he has feelings for the Princess and opts out.
Instead, the new Creature Commandos is now led by the Bride who leads Nina, Dr. Phosphorus, and Weasel back to Pokolistan as their mission is to eliminate the princess.
Eric Frankenstein meets Rick Flag Sr.
The beginning of Creature Commandos episode 4 also shows that Eric Frankenstein is spying on the Bride. However, he assumes that her and Rick Flag Sr. have a romantic relationship going on and he becomes jealous. He then tries killing Flag sr. but soon realizes that a misunderstanding has taken place.
Flag then explains himself and tells Eric that instead he has feelings for the Princess and not the Bride.
He then explains that he needs to save the Princess from being killed and Eric decides to join him on the mission as he thinks that Flag is his best friend now.
So, going into the next episode, fans can certainly expect to see Rick Flag and Frankenstein team up together in order to try and save the Princess.
