Creature Commandos weeks ahead preview features dead Superman, Peacemaker, and more

After the release of first two episodes of Creature Commandos, the writer and creator of the show, James Gunn, has dropped the "weeks ahead" preview. On December 8, Gunn took to his X account to share the preview that teased what's to come in the future—and it certainly looks like the titular team will be having quite the time fighting Circe.

The "weeks ahead" preview for Creature Commandos also features scenes that involve a dead Superman and Peacemaker. However, these scenes are likely visions of what may happen if Circe takes over in the future as both the characters have projects releasing next year. The trailer also gives fans the first look at David Corenswet's Superman in animation.

Fans can tune in for Creature Commandos episode 3 when it premieres on Max on December 12, 2024.

Recap of Creature Commandos episodes 1 and 2

Creature Commandos opens with Amanda Waller assembling a team of monsters, consisting of Nina Mazursky, The Bride, Weasel, Doctor Phosphorus, and G.I. Robot led by Rick Flag Sr. Their mission is to travel to Pokolistan and save the country from Circe as she is trying to take over it. In Pokolistan, the team is met by Princess Ilana Rostovic who takes a liking to Flag and they have a romance as well.

However, after arriving, the Bride decides to escape the Princess' castle in order to go back to where she was born. She is followed by Nina Mazursky who reluctantly joins her in her journey too. When they arrive at a castle, Eric Frankenstein is notified about the Bride's arrival. It is also shown that the Bride is there to find a necklace that she holds dear to her.

In flashback sequences, it is revealed that the Bride was created by Victor Frankenstein as Eric Frankenstein craved a lover. However, the Bride fell in love with Victor instead and this made Eric grow jealous. Eric then killed his creator and the Bride witnessed this and escaped Eric, however, he kept chasing her throughout history to make her his wife.

While exploring Victor Frankenstein's castle, Circe is made aware of the Bride and Nina's location. She then goes over to take them in and gets into a fistfight with the Bride. Circe comes out on top and wins the battle. However, at the same time, Rick Flag Sr. and the rest of the Creature Commandos rush to their teammates' rescue.

What can fans expect from Creature Commandos episode 3?

Going into episode 3 of the DC animated series, fans can expect a firefight as the titular group tries to rescue the Bride and Nina. With them being taken in by Circe, they will surely be coming face-to-face with the big bad of this season. Alongside that, fans will get to learn more about Circe's motivations and exactly what she wants in the show.

The ending of episode 1 teased the arrival of Eric Frankenstein, so maybe the third episode can also see the reunion between him and the Brid take place. The title of the episode is Cheers to the Tinman, hinting that G.I. Robot will get to shine here too.
