Dalgliesh season 3 is the latest installment of the crime drama series. The show premiered on Acorn TV on December 2, 2024 in the United States. It is set to air on December 5 on Channel 5 in the United Kingdom.
The series is based on PD James' book series, Adam Dalgliesh, published between 1962 and 2008. In the US, the series premiered its first season on November 1, 2021, and its second season on April 24, 2024 on Acorn TV.

When to watch Dalgliesh season 3?
Like previous installments, Dalgliesh season 3 also features six episodes. It is slated to air between December 2 and December 16 on Acorn TV in the US. In the UK, the series will premiere between December 5 and December 20 on Channel 5. Filming for season three began in Northern Ireland in May 2024.
The latest season is split into three parts of two episodes each, with each part covering a different novel by PD James. Part 1 covers the 2001 novel Death in Holy Orders, part 2 is based on the 1962 novel Cover Her Face, and part 3 brings the 1989 novel Devices and Desires to life.
The show's lead star, Bertie Carvel, has directed episodes 3 and 4 from Dalgliesh season 3. He shared his excitement in a statement with Deadline on May 16, 2024:

Plot summary for Dalgliesh season 3
In the first part of Dalgliesh season 3, Death in Holy Orders, the titular detective is called to investigate the gruesome murder of the Archdeacon Matthew Crampton at the remote St Anselm's Seminary in West Sussex.
Crampton's plans to modernize the seminary by selling its invaluable art treasures was met with resistance from its residents. As Dalgliesh and DS Tarrant go through a long list of suspects, they are confronted with another death. Their quest to find the killer leads them to uncovering shocking secrets about the seminary's residents.
In Cover Her Face, Dalgliesh visits the Essex home of an influential family with ties to the British government. After the maid is found dead under suspicious circumstances, Dalgliesh rounds up the suspects with help from the local detective Clive Roscoe.
In Devices and Desires, Dalgliesh reunites with his former colleague Kate Miskin to solve the murder of the the Acting Administrative Officer of the nuclear power plant on the Kent coast. Their investigation gets complicated with the involvement of a notorious serial killer, the Norfolk Whistler, wreaking havoc among the residents of the small town.
