What happened to Ken Jeudes?
Episode 9 of season 31 of Dateline features the shooting death of Kenneth Jeudes in his home. According to Oxygen, Ken's wife, Cindy Schulz-Juedes, had been asleep in a camper parked outside the couple's home the night before she discovered her husband dead.
According to the Wausau Daily Herald, Cindy had taken a Vicodin painkiller, a prescribed antibiotic, and a sleeping medication for a mild sinus infection diagnosed on August 29, 2006. She reportedly wanted to sleep uninterrupted while Kenneth stayed up late that night.
Cindy allegedly woke up the next day to find her husband, Kenneth E. Juedes, covered in blood at their H3752 Maple Road home. A report by WSAW TV mentioned that Cindy saw Ken's chest moving but refrained from performing CPR despite her training as a foster parent.
Unable to establish a call connection to 911, Cindy drove to her neighbor's house to alert the authorities, according to the criminal complaint. Cindy Schulz-Juedes allegedly tried both her landlines before visiting two neighbors and making two calls to the local police.
The forensic reports determined that Ken Jeudes had been killed between 10 p.m. local time and midnight on August 29, according to the Wausau Daily Herald. Ken Jeudes' death was reported around 8:30 a.m. local time the next day.
How was Kenneth Jeudes found?
Kenneth Jeudes was discovered with two fatal gunshot wounds. According to Central Wisconsin News, authorities found a note pinned to the pillow on the bed with a kitchen knife next to Kenneth and the word "b*tch" written on it.
A handwriting analysis of the note was unable to determine if the writing belonged to Ken or Cindy. A DNA sample was grabbed from the note as well but returned inconclusive results.
The criminal complaint revealed that Kenneth was found to have a blood alcohol level over twice the legal limit. Cindy alleged that the blood alcohol level of 0.192 was due to Ken's habit of consuming around two beers at night, per Central Wisconsin News.
The forensic reports stated that Kenneth had suffered gunshots from a 20-gauge shotgun, but the murder weapon could never be located. The US Sun reported that the court documents mentioned that Ken had been shot in the back first before he rolled over and was shot again in the chest.
