Why was Taylor Sanchez charged with homicide?
Episode 9 of Season 31 of Dateline tells viewers the story of Kenneth Jeudes and his cold-blooded shooting death in his Maple Road home. Ken Jeudes was shot twice in the back and the chest with a .20-gauge shotgun. The murder weapon was never found, but the evidence pointed toward Ken's second wife, Cindy Schulz-Jeudes.
Cindy was eventually found to be guilty of the murder of Ken Jeudes and sentenced to life in prison without parole in June 2022. She was incarcerated at Wisconsin's Taycheedan Correctional Institution, where her cellmate was 28-year-old Taylor Sanchez.
According to the Wausau Daily Herald, Taylor Sanchez had alerted the staff of the Taycheedan Correctional Institution of Cindy's murder using the intercom on July 19, 2023. The staff members and the officers from the Fond du Lac Police Department responded to the cell to find Cindy Schulz-Jeudes dead. Subsequently, Sanchez was placed in an isolation cell.
The criminal complaint stated that a witness at the prison overheard Sanchez hitting Schulz-Juedes for almost two minutes, wherein the former landed close to 60 and 70 punches. Another witness mentioned that she heard no other sounds than one that sounded like crunching coffee.
The autopsy report stated that Cindy had suffered extensive injuries, rib fractures, skull fractures, lacerations to her abdomen, chest, and arms, and bruises all over her body. She had also choked on her blood. Taylor Sanchez shared with a corrections sergeant that she used her bare hands and feet to kill Schulz-Jeudes.
According to Fox 11 News, Sanchez had stopped taking her medication and started hearing voices.
Where is Taylor Sanchez now?
Taylor Sanchez (28) was charged with first-degree intentional homicide of Cindy Schulz-Juedes. Sanchez had had her preliminary hearing waived, after which she was ordered to stand trial for her charges, per Fox 11 News. Sanchez was held in custody for a $1 million cash bond.
During her April 2023 hearing, Taylor pleaded not guilty at the Fond du Lac County Circuit Court and is awaiting her sentencing. Sanchez had been serving 18 months for charges of battery in Kenosha County, Wisconsin. She had an additional two-year sentence for battery to an inmate, according to Fox 11 News.
