Why was the Streeterville condominium complex sued by Sania Khan's family?

According to various reports, Sania Khan'a family has sued the Streeterville condominium complex where the murder-suicide took place in July 2022. During the divorce proceedings with her husband, Raheel Ahmad, Sania lived in the apartment building.

Raheel traveled over 700 miles from Alpharetta, Georgia to Streeterville, Illinois, and was reported missing by his family to the Alpharetta Police. The surveillance footage showcased that Ahmad entered the premises with two packages - a garment bag containing Sania's wedding dress and a backpack inside which he stored his 9mm Glock handgun.

Raheel Ahmad had attempted to commit suicide previously in December 2021 when he also tried to throw Sania out of their 28th-story window, several reports. Following the incident, Khan and her mother, Shazia, went to great extents to inform the building management of the threat Raheel Ahmad posed to Sania's life.

Consequently, Sania Khan filed for divorce in the same month and also ensured that Raheel Ahmad's name would be removed from the lease. Furthermore, she changed the locks on the doors. However, the surveillance footage from July 18 showed Ahmad entering the building with the two packages to meet a rental agent. He never checks in at the front desk of the Grand Ohio condo complex at 211 East Ohio Street.

"Losing a child is the hardest thing I have gone through. I have to live with that for the rest of my life - because of their negligence."

The Titan Security Group has not responded to any questions from the media yet but has mentioned that they were not responsible for the security in the building. The report by CBS News shared,

"Titan has no record of providing security staffing services at 211 E Ohio Street at any time in the history of our organization. We have no further comment on this pending litigation at this time."

Sania Khan was scheduled to move to her hometown of Chattanooga in Tennessee on July 21, 2022, per BBC.
