Diane Kruger and Jo Joyner are slated to star in a new psychological thriller, Little Disasters, on Paramount+ in the U.K. and Ireland. While there is no official release date yet, filming for the title based on Sarah Vaughan's novel has already begun.
According to Fremantle, Diane Kruger shed light on the project by hinting at its subject. She stated it would be relatable and explore the "fragility of reputation."
“I think this series will offer a relatable story which examines the crippling judgment levied upon mothers by society,” she said.
She added:
“The story so wonderfully explores the fragility of reputation, with the rapid unraveling of Jess’ seemingly perfect life. I can’t wait to begin developing Jess’s character and explore the challenges of motherhood through her eyes.”
Plot of Little Disasters
Little Disasters is a psychological thriller about female friendships and parenting. The title focuses on these themes through the lens of the lives of four women who do not have much in common other than their due dates.
The psychological thriller revolves around Jess, played by Diane Kruger, who faces a terrifying predicament when she takes her infant daughter to the hospital with an inexplicable head injury.
Liz, played by Jo Joyner, is her close friend and the emergency department doctor. Liz is forced to make a difficult decision about whether to report her long-term buddy to social services. This incident sparks a chain reaction that unravels Jess' seemingly flawless existence, showing the fragility of reputation and the terrible impact of society's judgment on mothers.
The narrative of Little Disasters explores the lives of four women, Jess, Liz, Charlotte, and Mel, who are bound together only by their shared due dates. As the story unfolds, the series examines the pressures and expectations placed on mothers, revealing how one moment can fracture relationships and nearly destroy entire families.

Jo Joyner as Liz
Jo Joyner, known for her roles in EastEnders and The Wives, portrays Liz, an A&E doctor and Jess' close friend. She started her acting career with guest appearances in shows such as Always and Everyone, The Cops, and Heartbeat. Jo gained fame when she played Beth Nicholls in the Channel 4 comedy-drama No Angels between 2004 and 2006.
Shelley Conn as Charlotte
Shelley Conn, best known for her performance in Bridgerton, plays Charlotte, a corporate lawyer. Charlotte is one of four women whose lives are tied by their common due dates. Emily Taaffe portrays Mel
