Bad Sisters season 1 premiered on Apple TV+ in 2022, and with the second installment coming on November 13, some refresher about characters and mysteries from the previous season would help. One such mystery is what happened to JP's family.
In episode 4 of Bad Sisters season 1, the dark comedy series explored the show's villain John Paul, aka JP's, family life, and childhood. Viewers know from this episode that he had a sister named Laura, but she only exists in pictures in JP's home.
Bad Sisters season 1 didn't reveal much about Laura's past and kept what happened to her a mystery. Her fate remains vague at the end of the first season, and no one is certain whether she's alive or dead. It's the opposite of the fate of JP's father, which was revealed in episode 8.

What did Bad Sisters season 1 reveal about JP's sister Laura?
Bad Sisters season 1 episode four, titled Baby Becka, revealed a little bit about JP's family life and what he was like growing up. When Becka visited JP's mother, Minna Williams, they went over some of JP's childhood photos, with Minna recalling some memories from when he was young.
At one point, Minna referred to Becka as Laura, saying:
"But your brother (JP), he loved frogs, Laura."
In one of the JP's childhood photos, he's pictured with a little girl in headbands and wearing her "best dungarees" while holding a cat, whom Minna said is named Miso. Minna revealed that it was her daughter Laura, JP's sister, before saying:
"But she's gone now."
Bad Sisters season 1 only revealed Laura's existence, her cat, which JP has now kept for himself, and that Minna thinks she's gone and won't be coming back. When Becka asked her if she thought Laura was coming back, like George, JP's father, Minna said:
"I'm afraid Laura is not coming back."
At that point, Minna excused herself to go to the restroom while Becka continued to peruse the photo album. The next pictures she saw were of JP wearing the same outfit as Laura from the previous picture while also cradling her cat. Apple TV+'s Bad Sisters season 1 ended without much clue about Laura's past, what happened to her, if she's dead or alive, and why the young JP was dressing up like her sister.

While JP's sister, Laura's fate in the first season of Bad Sisters remained a mystery, it's different for JP's father and mother. In episode 8, titled Cold Storage, Becka was plotting to lock JP in the walk-in freezer, thinking that he could freeze to death. However, when she locks the door, she doesn't check who is in it, and episode 8 ends with Becka thinking that she killed JP. However, episode 9 revealed that it wasn't JP who she locked inside the freezer, it was JP's mother, Minna, instead.
As for JP's father, George, episode 8 revealed the cause of his death. Becka discovered that JP was hiding a grave secret in the basement—his father's decomposing remains. It turns out that he was working in the basement, his taxidermist workplace, years ago. But while stuffing one of his dead animals, he choked on a glass eyeball, and while JP tried to help him at first, he later stopped and decided to let his father choke to death.
