Die Hart season 3 is a comedy-action series that stars Kevin Hart as himself. The latest season is set to release on December 13, 2024, on the Roku Channel.

Earlier seasons of Die Hart were re-edited into films and released on Prime Video, so there is an expectation that the upcoming season will follow the same format.

Hart plays a fictionalized version of himself. As an actor, he is frustrated with being typecast in the same roles and perceived as a comedian by his fans. In a bid to change his image, Hart vies to star in action movies.

Season 1 saw him enter into a secluded action star boot camp in a bid to secure a role in an upcoming action flick and revive his plummeting career.

Season 2 saw Hart come to terms with the fact that he treats everyone badly, after her fires his stunt double, Doug, on unreasonable grounds. The character Doug is also played by Hart.

Die Hart Season 3, changes its premise with the titular character being focused on securing a starring role in a critically acclaimed movie. In the official trailer, he is seen expressing the fact that he desires to win an Oscar.

In Die Hart season 3, Hart will work with an Oscar-winning director to be taken seriously as an actor. The trailer opens with the main character watching his fans laugh out loud in a theatre while he delivers (what he believes) a serious performance.

Hart seeks out Jackson Pepper, a director with a slew of Academy Awards under his belt. He is known to make or break an actor's career. "I would kill to be in Jackson Pepper movie," he says.

He meets Pepper and declares to him he will do anything to get a chance to work with him. Unfortunately, Pepper prompts him to kill him.

Before Hart knows it, he is wanted for Pepper's murder in Die Hart season 3. What ensues are action sequences interspersed with elements of comedy as Hart, along with his sidekick Jordan King, scramble to clear his name.

Besides Hart playing himself, Nathalie Emmanuel reprises her role as Jordan King. Die Hart season 3 has also added three new cast members. Kathryn Hahn from Agatha All Along fame stars as Jillian Avery, an Oscar-winning actress enjoying the peak of her career. She has worked with Jackson Pepper, the Academy Award-winning director.

Pepper is played by J. K. Simmons, a director who prefers a hands-on approach when it comes to his actors preparing for their roles.

What happened in season 2

In season 2, Hart worked hard to land a role in an action film with repeated failure. A meeting with his financier, Debra Simon, proved unsuccessful since she advised him to star in a sequel of a past successful project rather than change direction and get into action movies.

Things seem to start looking up for the titular character when he receives a call from a European director who is willing to cast him in an action movie. Unbeknownst to him, the director is an imposter.

Hart is kidnapped and believes it is staged as a part of his dream movie. When a masked man attacks him, he realizes he is in danger.

What ensues in the final moments of season 2 is Doug, Hart's former stuntman, taking revenge for being fired without a reasonable explanation. Kevin Hart and Doug face-off. Although it seems that authorities arrested Dough, it was Hart who landed behind bars.

"After his latest film flops harder than a boiled peanut, Kevin's search for dramatic acclaim leads him to legendary filmmaker Jackson Pepper. Kevin would do just about anything to get a golden statue on his shelf, but Pepper's idea of role research is a bit more hands-on, and soon Kevin is living out the role of a fugitive on the run for murder. With Jordan King roped in as his unwitting getaway driver, it'll take bravery, acting talent, and stupidity to save their award-winning future."
