Marvel Studios' newest project Agatha All Along is expected to enter the awards season prominently in the comedy category nominations. These awards include the Golden Globes, SAG Awards and next year’s Emmys. Lead actress Kathryn Hahn, who played Agatha Harkness, will be in the running against many of her peers, including Jean Smart, Quinta Brunson and Ayo Edebiri.

The publication Variety has reported that, given the extensive nominations and massive audience response, Agatha All Along might even be renewed for another season. However, the show was conceptualised as a mini series, and neither the showrunner Jac Schaeffer nor representatives from Marvel have indicated anything different as of yet.

Does Agatha All Along have a chance of winning big at the Emmys? Possibilities explored

As per the Variety report, Agatha All Along has drawn in its audiences with a total of 9.3 million views within the first week of its premiere. Majorly, the audience and critical response to the show have also been positive.

Kathryn Hahn has made a mark at the Emmys. Hahn’s previous Marvel project WandaVision had the high count of 23 Emmy nominations. It also includes one for Hahn in the category of supporting actress in a limited series.

Other than her work for Marvel, Kathryn Hahn has received two other Emmy nominations in her career. Her first was for supporting comedy actress for the 2017 project Transparent. She was also nominated for her role as lead actress in a limited series for her show Tiny Beautiful Things.

Given its track record, the show stands a chance at multiple nominations and might even snag a win this awards season. Fans will have to stay tuned to the show's progress over the next few weeks.

What is Agatha All Along about? Main plot of the show explored

The nine-episode mini series has been created by Jac Schaeffer, and the story picks up after the end of the Emmy-recognised WandaVision. The new series picks up after Wanda leaves the quaint town of Westview, with one of her nemeses imprisoned under a curse. This witch is Agatha Harkness, the centre of the new plot.

Agatha breaks out of Wanda's spell with the help of a mysterious teen. The boy has a Sigil or a protective spell placed on him, which prevents anyone from finding out who he is.

Both characters realise that they have lost their Witch powers due to the curses on them and decide to walk a magical path called the Witches Road to restore their status. Agatha and Teen gather a coven of witches who have also lost their power and ready themselves to walk the Witches Road.

The main cast of the series includes:

  • Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness
  • Joe Locke as Teen / Billy Kaplan / Wiccan
  • Debra Jo Rupp as Mrs Sharon Davis
  • Aubrey Plaza as Rio Vidal / Lady Death
  • Sasheer Zamata as Jennifer Kale
  • Ali Ahn as Alice Wu-Gulliver
  • Patti LuPone as Lilia Calderu
  • Evan Peters as Ralph Bohner
  • Maria Dizzia as Rebecca Kaplan
  • Paul Adelstein as Jeff Kaplan
