Doc is a medical drama that premiered on Fox on January 7, 2025. It follows the story of Dr. Amy Larsen who loses eight years of her memory after a brain injury. She has to go through all kinds of hurdles in her career and in her personal life as she embarks on a journey to rebuild bonds she once shared.

Doc is co-produced by Sony Pictures Television and Fox Entertainment Studios, with creator and executive producer Barbie Kligman. Based on the real-life of Dr. Pierdante Piccioni who lost 12 years of his life due to amnesia caused by an accident, the 2024 series is inspired by the premise of the most famous Italian drama, DOCNelle Tue Mani.

The show features Molly Parker as protagonist Dr. Amy Larsen, alongside Omar Metwally as Dr Michael Hamda, Amirah Vann as Gina Walker, Jon-Michael Ecker as Jake Heller, and Anya Banerjee as Sonya Maitra. Rounding out the recurring cast is Scott Wolf as Dr Richard Miller and Patrick Walker as Theodore "TJ" Coleman.

In Doc, Molly Parker stars as Dr. Amy Larsen, the head of internal medicine at a Minneapolis hospital. When Dr. Larsen suffers a brain injury in a car accident, eight years are wiped from her memory. She forgets the big personal and professional developments in her life during that period.

But something about her determination to practice her vocation remains, while she tends to try and mend her patients, working through what happened with her own broken past. She starts at an Intern position again in the same hospital.

Actress Molly Parker has received critical acclaim for her roles as Alma Garret in Deadwood and Jackie Sharp in House of Cards. For her performance as Jackie, she earned her a Primetime Emmy nomination in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (2016).

Among her film credits is Kissed, for which she won a Genie Award for Best Actress in 1997, and The Center of the World, for which she was nominated for a Genie Award as Best Actress in 2002.


2) Anya Banerjee as Sonya Maitra

In Doc, Anya Banerjee plays Dr. Sonya Maitra, a third-year resident at Westside Hospital. Her character goes through a lot during her medical career, especially with Dr. Amy Larsen, who once questioned whether she was suited for this profession. That past incident makes their professional relationship very strained, which deepens the development of these characters throughout the show.

Anya Banerjee was born in Platteville, Wisconsin, raised in New Zealand, and trained in the Meisner technique in New York. As shared on her Instagram post dated August 23, 2019, she has a Masters degree in English Literature from the University of Auckland.

According to her post, her research into prostitute actresses of colonial Bengal spawned her first play, Apologies to the Bengali Lady. It was workshopped at Georgetown University and performed at The Tank in New York and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The play received critical acclaim from The Scotsman, British Theater Guide, and The List.

She rose to prominence with the portrayal of Siya Malik in The Blacklist.


3) Omar Metwally as Dr. Michael Hamda

In Doc, Omar Metwally portrays Dr. Michael Hamda, the ex-husband of Dr. Amy Larsen. Their divorce, which occurred four years prior, is among the significant life events Amy forgets following her brain injury.

Metwally is recognized for his role as Dr. Vik Ullah in The Affair. His film credits include Rendition, which earned him the Chopard Trophy for Male Revelation at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.

In theater, he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play for Sixteen Wounded in 2004. Metwally also won an Obie Award for his performance in a play called Guards at the Taj.


4) Amirah Vann as Gina Walker

In Doc Amirah Vann plays Dr. Gina Walker, a neuropsychiatrist at the hospital and best friend to Dr. Amy Larsen for over 20 years. As Amy's doctor, she oversees the treatment of her brain injury after the accident.

Vann's most notable role is Hattie Mae from Tyler Perry's A Jazzman's Blues (2022), for which she received critical acclaim from The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and Time.

She has also played the role of attorney Tegan Price in the ABC legal drama How to Get Away with Murder. She has bagged two NAACP Image Award nominations, a Princess Grace Award in Acting, and has been named Best Actor by the UJAMAA Black Theater.

As of January 7, 2025, Doc has released its premiere episode, titled If at First You Don't Succeed..., which aired on Fox. The series is scheduled to release new episodes weekly on Tuesdays at 9 PM ET/PT. Each episode spans approximately 60 minutes. After airing, episodes will be available for streaming on Hulu.
