Max Thieriot's Bode Leone, aka Bode Donovan, is at the heart of CBS's Fire Country. A former prison inmate, Bode seeks redemption from his misdemeanors by volunteering for the California Conservation Camp Program, which deploys several former social outcasts like him in aiding the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.
Season 1 of Fire Country saw Bode save lives and excel at his job. However, things took a turn for the worse towards the end of the season, during Bode's parole hearing. On the day of his parole, Bode receives valuable information about his best friend Freddy, which can land him in trouble with the authorities.
Being his friend, knowing that Freddy was being framed, Bode decided to take the blame on himself. This resulted in him landing up in jail yet again, where he was not having the best time. To begin with, he was regularly targeted by a fellow prisoner named Sleeper, who made his time in prison difficult.
However, things changed when Bode saved Sleeper's life and the latter promised to clear the former's name by taking the blame for the drug case in Three Rock on himself.
In season 2 of Fire Country, the audiences see Bode working for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection yet again. In episode 9 of the show, Bode is seen bravely combating a fire, resulting in saving at least two people.
His act of bravery earns him brownie points with the Fire Division Chief Aaron Reese, who submits his name for an Extraordinary Conduct Credit, which takes off 12 months from his prison sentence. Once the paperwork is completed, Bode will be paroled since he only has 11 months remaining in his prison term.

Bode gets paroled in Fire Country after bravely tackling the Lazarus Fire
When it was time for Bode to be paroled in season 1 of Fire Country, he had failed to pass a drug test. In addition to that, he also learned that his best friend Freddy was being framed for a crime, to which he responded by taking the blame on himself instead.
Naturally, he was sent back to prison, where he encountered several difficult situations, especially at the hands of Sleeper. However, the two mended their ways when Bode saved Sleeper from getting crushed during an earthquake. In return for saving his life, Sleeper promised Bode to clear his name by taking the blame on himself.
Season 2 of Fire Country witnesses Bode working for California's firefighting department yet again while serving his sentence. Things go as anticipated, however, they are suddenly stirred in episode 9 of the show during the Lazarus Fire.
During the episode, Bode is suddenly woken up from his sleep by Gabriela, who informs him that his father, Vince, is trapped in an uncontrollable fire. She also informs him that he has been cut off from the rest of the crew, and they were unable to track him down.
After Bode arrives on location, he tries to hose down the fire with help from his fellow workers, but to no avail. When he realizes that their attempts are going to end in futility, he decides to put his life on the line and takes a difficult path into the fire. After battling the flames for a while, Bode is finally able to rescue Vince and Eddie, and all of them return to the station.
Not long after this incident, Bode is informed by his father that his name has been submitted for the Extraordinary Conduct Credit, capable of taking 12 months off his sentence. He also mentions that after some minute paperwork, Bode will be a free man.
