What to expect for The Day of the Jackal season 2? Plot dynamics explored
The first season of the show ended in limbo for the main character, the Jackal, now revealed to be the soldier Alexander Duggan. He completed a long-overdue mission where he was able to successfully assassinate one of his targets: Ulle Dag Charles (UDC). However, things did not go well on the personal front in the character's life.
Jackal's wife, Nuria, found out about his true identity as a paid assassin. She was unable to reconcile this image with that of her husband and was furious at him for putting their family at risk and compromising on his morals.
The Jackal promised her that he would stop killing the moment he was done with his last mission. However, worried about the safety of her son, Nuria took him and fled the house that she shared with her husband.
Meanwhile, Bianca Pullman was unknowingly used as a scapegoat for the British government. Her superior Isabel authorized her to track down the Jackal, giving her a second chance at the case. She did so by narrowing down the location of the assassin's house. Unfortunately for her, the Jackal realized that there was a trespasser in her home and killed Bianca.
After her death, the government disassociated with Bianca. An official statement was released, detailing how Bianca went rogue and pursued the Jackal without government sanction, even though it was untrue.
The Day of the Jackal season 2 might see the Jackal at an even bigger risk of exposure, with the British government now directly out to hunt him. Additionally, the season might explore how the Jackal tries to get Nuria back while struggling with his morals and his promises to her the whole time.
