Dune: Prophecy episode 3 premiered on Max on December 1, 2024, and was titled Sisterhood Above All. The episode picks up from the events of last week's episode where Valya Harkonnen has been shunned from the Imperium and then it focuses on her regrouping with the sisters and deciding the next course of action.
However, instead of heavily furthering the plot in the present, Dune: Prophecy episode 3 takes fans back to the past. It shows them how Valya and Tula set out to get their revenge on the Atreides family for killing their brother and why they joined the Sisterhood. In the present, fans also get to see Tula attempt to bring Lila back to life after she was lost to Agony last week.

Dune: Prophecy episode 3 takes fans back to the early days of Valya and Tula on Lankiveil. There viewers get to see how Valya was shunned by her family due to being too ambitious and how she wanted revenge on the Atreides for destroying their family name. At the same time, Tula was a bit more soft-spoken and they had a brother, Griffin, who was set to travel to Zimia to secure a better trade deal for whale fur.
However, at the same time, Griffin also promises to get revenge on Vorian Atreides for what has happened to the Harkonnen name. Unfortunately, it is implied that Griffin is killed by Vorian which further sends Valya down a spiral in Dune: Prophecy episode 3. She then immediately joins the Sisterhood but assigns Tula a mission of killing the members of House Atreides on Caladan.
Joining the Sisterhood, Valya then grows closer to Mother Raquella much to her daughter Dorotea's dismay. However, Valya isn't able to become a Reverend Mother as she refuses to go through the Agony because she still has a strong connection with her home.
How does Tula succeed in her mission?
On Caladan, Tula keeps her identity a secret and falls in "love" with Orry Atreides. There, she is invited on the family's annual hunt and while trying to lay bait for a bull, she explains to a young Atreides kid that the animal for the bait has a nerve in it that consists of a strong toxin. When Orry's horse gets injured, Tula uses the same toxin to kill it in a painless manner.
The same night, Orry asks Tula to marry him while House Atreides celebrates the hunt outside. However, when morning arrives, Tula tells Orry that she is actually a Harkonnen. While Orry accepts Tula for who she is, she doesn't accept the circumstances and mentions that her brother will still be dead. Orry then steps outside to see that his entire family has died.
Tula then injects Orry with the same poison she had used on her horse and kills him. She then sends Valya a message calling her back to Lankiveil and telling her that the Atreides are dead. Reuniting on their home planet again, Valya's family shuns her again for corrupting Tula and then Valya uses the Voice on her mother. However, she then storms outside.
Following this, Valya decides to go through the Agony, however, she doesn't see much in there and is awoken by Tula. Surviving the Agony, Valya decides to go back to Wallach IX, but Tula asks to come with her and that's how both the sisters become a major part of the Sisterhood.
What does Tula do with Lila in Dune: Prophecy episode 3?
In Dune: Prophecy episode 3, Tula is still mourning Lila's death in the present after she wasn't able to survive the Agony. While Valya did learn that Desmond Hart is the key to the reckoning, Tula was unfortunately left an emotional mess after losing Lila. However, Tula then takes Lila's body underground in secret and uses one of Raquella's genetic indexing computers to bring her back to life.
Believing that Lila can be brought back to life through that and being the closest person to her, it looks like Tula won't stop at anything. Dune: Prophecy episode 3 ends with Valya being reunited with her uncle Baron Harrow Harkonnen in Salusa Secundus after saying that a sacrifice has to be made.
What Valya intends to do with her uncle remains to be seen, however, it is certainly connected to her mission with the reckoning.
