The Dune: Prophecy season finale is set to premiere next week on December 22, 2024, on Max. Titled The High-Handed Enemy, the preview of the episode premiered online following the release of episode 5. It teases the conflicts that are yet to come in the show and what the finale for this season has in store for the fans.

It definitely looks like the Dune: Prophecy season finale will be diving further into the life of Desmond Hart and how he happens to be Tula Harkonnen's son. The trailer further confirms this as well. It also looks like there is going to be much imbalance in the Imperium as the arrival of Sister Francesca has shaken things up considerably.

It also looks like the episode will be focusing majorly on the conflict between Emperor Corrino and his wife as well while Desmond tries to sway him again.

Recap of Dune: Prophecy episode 5

Episode 5 of Dune: Prophecy begins with Sister Francesca being called to Salusa Secundus as Valya Harkonnen needs her help. Due to her being close to the Emperor in the past, Valya aims to use her to influence Corrino in the Sisterhood's favor while ensuring that Ynez can go to Wallach IX and her son ends up commanding the Imperium's fleet.

Elsewhere, Harrow Harkonnen delivers the location of the Rebellion to Desmond Hart on Valya's order, and he begins cracking down on them. When he finally finds the Rebellion stronghold, Keiran Atreides sets off an explosion hoping that it would kill Hart; however, he ends up surviving the attack. This leads Valya to then pivot to another plan as she was hoping for Hart to die in the explosion.

Constantine then figures out Keiran's betrayal and has him arrested. This leads to him being put in charge of the Imperium's fleet. Back on Wallach IX, Mother Raquella has taken over Lila's body and is controlling her in order to further research the reckoning. Sister Jen joins the mission too, as Tula trusts her to be discreet, and they are able to find a virus linked to the reckoning.

Back at the Imperium, Natalya is unhappy with Constantine's promotion and Corrino's liking towards Francesca. She seeks out Desmond, desperately asking him to rid the Imperium of the Sisters forever, and this is where he reveals more about his lineage. Desmond reveals that as a child he was abandoned by his mother, who happened to be a sister.

The episode then ends with Tula receiving Desmond's blood and it being revealed that he comes from both House Atreides and House Harkonnen. Horrified by the news, it is implied that Tula is his mother.

What can fans expect from the Dune: Prophecy finale?

Going into Dune: Prophecy's finale, fans can certainly expect to learn more about Tula's past with Desmond. It is known that Sisters aren't supposed to carry kids, and hence why she may have given him away. The preview does promise flashbacks to come, and this is where fans will get to see a young Tula giving Desmond away.

On the Imperium side, it does look like Desmond will be questioning his loyalty to Emperor Corrino as well in the Dune: Prophecy finale with the arrival of Sister Francesca. For further updates on the Dune: Prophecy finale, stay tuned with us.
