Elizabeth Henstridge's debut as Lex's daughter promises major twists on Superman & Lois season 4

Superman & Lois season 4 episode 5 premiered on October 28, 2024, and set up the second half of the season in a major way. Titled Break the Cycle, the episode saw the debut of Elizabeth Henstridge as Lex Luthor's daughter Elizabeth Luthor. The episode saw Lex finally reunited with her daughter after not being in contact with her for years.

However, the reunion between the father and daughter in Superman & Lois season 4 episode 5 was less than ideal. After a heartfelt conversation between them, the episode saw Elizabeth bid goodbye to her father for good. This effectively set up a major twist for Lex as this has been the biggest loss he has faced so far all season.

To top that off, Lex also lost Doomsday. Meaning that now he has no way of taking on Superman. So, going forward in the show, fans can certainly expect a more ruthless Lex Luthor who will certainly stop at no cost to take down the Kent family.

Superman & Lois season 4 episode 5 sets up the second half of the season in a huge way

The last time fans got to know about Elizabeth Luthor in the show, she asked General Sam Lane for help disappearing so that her father couldn't keep tabs on her. However, with Lex Luthor now terrorizing the Kent family to get revenge on them, Lois Lane had no other option but to seek her out so that she could try reasoning with her father.

However, when Lex and Elizabeth finally met each other after 17 years, old feelings came to the surface. While Lex was happy to see his daughter, he still couldn't let go of his hate for Lois. And when Elizabeth gave him an ultimatum saying that he could be a part of her family if he gave up his fight with Lois, Lex chose revenge.

On the other hand, Lois also used her father's device to call upon Doomsday while Lex was distracted. Knowing that Bizarro Clark was inside of Doomsday, Lois reached out to his heart and pleaded with him to stop coming after her family. With Bizarro having his own Lois and family, which were taken away from him, he was able to empathize with Lois and disappeared off into the air.

However, by the time Lex got to know what had happened, it was already too late, as Doomsday was no longer in his control. With Lex not having Doomsday under his control anymore, fans can certainly expect to see a much ruthless version of the villain going forward in Superman & Lois season 4.

What can fans expect from Superman & Lois season 4 going forward?

Elizabeth Henstridge's debut as Elizabeth Luthor was the big event of this season so far. With her return and saying goodbye to Lex for good, not only does it set up a much more ruthless arc for the villain, but it will also have major implications for what will happen in the show going forward. Not to mention, Elizabeth was one thing that was holding Lex back and keeping him sane in Superman & Lois season 4.

With Lex having lost his daughter's love in Superman & Lois season 4 now, he has nothing left to lose. Even with Doomsday not in his control anymore, this will just motivate him to be more brutal with his methods. One thing about Lex Luthor in the comics is that he stops for nothing and he will go to the ends of the world to accomplish what he wants.

The teaser for Superman & Lois season 4 does show Lex donning the Steel suit, and this is one thing that fans can definitely expect to see. So, with Doomsday out of the equation now, maybe Lex will equal the playing field by directly fighting Superman in the Steel suit.
