Eve Hewson has been making waves for her role in Netflix's The Perfect Couple, but before this, she had a prominent acting role in the 2021 series Behind Her Eyes. This show was a psychological thriller originally released on 17 February 2021, while The Perfect Couple premiered on September 5, 2024.
Behind Her Eyes and The Perfect Couple are adaptations of novels of the same name. The former was originally a novel by Sarah Pinborough, while the latter was by Elin Hilderbrand.
These two Netflix series have allowed Eve Hewson to display various facets of her acting range.

Hewson stars in The Perfect Couple as Amelia Sacks, the bride of Benji Winbury. They have a wedding in Nantucket that gets disrupted by the discovery of a dead body washing ashore.
The murder victim is revealed to be Amelia's best friend and maid of honor, Merritt Monaco. Everyone at the wedding, including Amelia, becomes a suspect in the crime.
However, the killer is eventually revealed to be Abby Winbury, the wife of Thomas Winbury. Thomas is Benji's older brother and has no connection to Amelia.
Amelia is proven to be completely innocent of the crime. The series' protagonist, Greer Garrison Winbury, realizes this and reconciles with Amelia. They bury their rivalry after discovering that they are not so different.
With the wedding called off, Amelia can now let go of the pressures that led her to commit to the marriage and start a new life pursuing her true desires.
Eve Hewson's role in Behind Her Eyes
Eva Hewson's role in Behind Her Eyes is a strong contrast to that of The Perfect Couple.
Hewson's character, Adele, is the wife of psychiatrist David. The plot is initiated by David starting an affair with his secretary, Louise. However, Louise also befriends Adele and discovers increasingly darker secrets about David's family life.
Adele, in particular, is revealed to be a much darker and more complex character than she initially appears to be. David eventually reveals that he is not in a happy relationship with his wife, and she seems completely different from the woman he originally fell in love with.
Eventually, it is revealed that Adele seems like a different person because, quite literally, she is a different person. Adele was once friends with David's associate, Rob Hoyle.
Rob had supposedly died from a heroin overdose, but in reality, he had swapped bodies with Adele. Rob had originally learned the body-swapping technique from Adele. Feeling bitter about his unrequited feelings for David, Rob tricked her into switching bodies with him and then arranged for his original body’s death.
He has since been "married" to David under the guise of Adele, and David's subconscious feeling that something's gone wrong with his wife is the reason behind his marital troubles.
Eventually, Rob exploits David's affair with Louise to his advantage. He arranges for another body swap, this time with Louise, and leaves the real Louise to die in Adele's body. As a result, despite David believing he is starting a new life with Louise, he remains firmly under Rob's control.
