Geeked Week is back, and Netflix is delivering exciting news for fans of its biggest shows, movies, and games. Running from September 16 to 19, this weeklong event offers a consistent stream of announcements, teasers, and trailers for some of Netflix's most awaited releases.

Fans of hit shows including Arcane, Squid Game, and Avatar among others are buzzing about this year's edition. Geeked Week 2024 is once again proving to be an event that's more drawing attention.

Geeked Week would comprise daily announcements online leading to a live event starting on September 16 to September 19 at 8 PM ET. Several shows, including Squid Game season 2, which will hit screens in December, and Arcane season 2, set for a November release.

Arcane season 2 arrives on November 2

Arcane season 2 will bring the story of Vi and Jinx, the two sisters from League of Legends, to a dramatic conclusion. As things get worse between Piltover and Zaun, the sisters end up on opposite sides of a war that is about to start. Vi, the tough enforcer, is trying to keep Piltover safe, while Jinx, who is crazy about chaos, joins Zaun's rebellious forces.

The final season, airing November 2, 2024, will resolve their personal conflict through family, loyalty, and betrayal.

Squid Game, the global phenomenon, is finally returning with its second season in December. Geeked Week confirmed the premiere date, December 26, 2024.

The upcoming season will see the protagonist Gi-hun return with renewed vigor after a life-changing decision to stay in Japan for the Squid Game. He enters another high-stakes survival competition with a new group of participants in the new season to win 45.6 billion.

Three years after Player 456, Seong Gi-hun, emerged victorious in season 1, the second season picks on Gi-hun returns with a fresh resolve. He is ready to face the risks of the Squid Game once more after making a life-altering choice to forgo moving to the United States.

He joins yet another high-stakes survival competition in the new season, this time with a new set of contenders all fighting for the 45.6 billion grand prize to win.


Stranger Things final season teaser is coming in 2024

Two years after its last season, Stranger Things has finally resurfaced during Geeked Week 2024. The release date for the final season is still under wraps.

Eleven, Mike, Will, Dustin, Lucas, Joyce, Hopper, and Steve will return for the season. As Vecna strengthens, the group must unite to face their greatest challenge, which could threaten Hawkins and the world. New characters, including Linda Hamilton's mysterious role, will fight when it releases in 2025.


Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 is premiering in January 2025

Geeked Week confirmed that Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 will premiere in January 2025. The second season picks up where the first season left off with Richter Belmont's fight against powerful vampires during the French Revolution.

After the scary events of season 1, Richter, Maria, Annette, and their new friend Alucard are now facing a new, even worse threat. The vampire messiah Erzsebet is now stronger, and her influence has turned more powerful. The team has to stop Erzsebet from fully unlocking Sekhmet's power, which would make her almost impossible to beat during the revolution.

Season 2 promises even higher stakes and bloodier battles, with emotional and physical changes affecting all the characters after their previous encounters. Alucard leads Richter and Annette to Paris in a desperate attempt to stop Erzsebet’s rise to ultimate power.


Monument Valley 3 expands Netflix’s gaming portfolio on December 10

Netflix’s growing interest in gaming is evident during Geeked Week 2024, keeping Monument Valley 3 being one of the highlights. Set for release on December 10, 2024, this Netflix game will continue with the enchanting journey of the Monument Valley series, following its mind-bending puzzles and stunningly surreal landscapes.

Designed by Ustwo Games, the upcoming game pays close attention to guiding players across complex, impossible architecture, recalling its predecessors.

This time, the game presents fresh characters who set off on a very emotional trip across aesthetically pleasing, always-changing surroundings. Players rotate, and move the surroundings by uncovering hidden paths, thereby revealing new mechanics that add fresh layers to the gameplay as they solve puzzles.


New documentary: The Remarkable Life of Ibelin on October 25

Scheduled for release on October 25, The Remarkable Life of Ibelin is a heartfelt documentary about a life cut short, told within World of Warcraft. The announcement during Geeked Week 2024 highlighted Netflix’s continued commitment to exploring diverse storytelling formats.

Benjamin Ree's film focuses on the remarkable internet life of Norwegian gamer Mats Steen, who suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Playing as his charming avatar, Ibelin, Steen finds connection and purpose online multiplayer game World of Warcraft despite his physical restrictions.

The documentary shows how Steen's virtual environment lets him create deep friendships and become a vital member of a digital community. Steen's family learned of the large network of friends and supporters grieving his death when he passed away in 2014 at the age of 25.

Through interviews with his online friends and archive footage from the Steens, the film reveals how World of Warcraft provided Mats with an escape and a sense of belonging, following the ability of online communities to transcend physical limitations and promote real relationships.


Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is coming on October 10, 2024

During Geeked Week, Netflix revealed updates for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft as part of its growing library, set for October 10, 2024. Staying true to the venerable video game character, the trailer suggested the mix of action, adventure, and mystery of the series.

Based on Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raiders video games, this forthcoming American animated action-adventure series is following the events of the 2018 game Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the show carries on the narrative from the reboot trilogy under the voice of Lara Croft, Hayley Atwell.

Set in the same continuity as the 2013 reboot, the show will follow the fresh exploits of the venerable archaeologist.

Showrunner Tasha Huo coordinates production under Legendary Television and DJ2 Entertainment. Powerhouse Animation Studios, located in Austin, Texas, has taken care of the animation.


September 19 marks the end of Geeked Week with a live event that will round off a run of announcements that keep viewers on the tip of their seats.
