Evil season 4 episode 10, titled “How to Survive a Storm,” was released on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Given the title the episode was indeed tense and gripping, which ended on a melancholic note that loyal fans of the series will be having a hard time getting used to what just really transpired.
As the series is going to end with season 4, in some way, given the narrative, Evil was anticipated to shock the audience with a profound sense of sadness.

Evil season 4 episode 10 kills off Sheryl from the series
With everything that happened so far, involving the Manager Demon’s death and Leland taking over the authority, Sheryl knew that her and her family’s safety, while Leland breathed, was impossible. After all her tactics failed from baptizing the Antichrist to framing Leland as an enemy to The 60, she resorted to destroying him financially and was also ready to kill him if the situation escalated.
Before she would embark on this one-way path, Sheryl met her daughter and warned her about Leland. However, Kristen didn’t want to hear anything her mother had to say and she was more focused on the storm that hit the city, making the people all around go berserk.

Sheryl encroached into the head office and through the company’s social media account posted fake news of Leland’s death to negatively affect the stocks. Sheryl met Boggs and they together witnessed a demon at the location. The latter was completely shocked to witness something that defied his belief and knowledge.
After somehow making it out of the office, Sheryl headed to Leland’s residence and infused his transfusion bottles with a huge dose of medicine that she stole from Bogg’s office. Despite Sheryl’s attempt, Leland managed to survive after the office demon intruded.
Although Evil season 4 episode 10 didn’t show how Leland and his demon helper hurt Sheryl, after she was brought to the hospital by the first responders, she was in a pretty bad state. Kristen received a call from the hospital and it was revealed to her that there were no chances of her surviving.
Sheryl apologized to Kristen and met her granddaughters for the last time. Before Sheryl passed away, David assured her that God forgave her of all her sins and he would accept her in his kingdom.

Evil season 4 episode 10: What happened to Leland
If the office demon hadn’t been following Sheryl the whole time since she trespassed into the office, the episode would have seen a whole different ending where she makes out alive. Sheryl almost killed Leland after the latter injected himself with the poisoned transfusion.
While he fell down with foam coming out of his mouth, Sheryl tried to deliver a final blow with a knife but was stopped by the office demon. Once again Leland proved that he was invincible and could deal with any threat coming his way. Leland survived against Sheryl several times and he will continue on the path to fulfill the prophecy.

One of the shocking yet unanticipated moments in the Evil season 4 episode 10 was when Leland reversed David’s psychic possession and tried to kill him. Fortunately, David survived somehow but the following revelation about Leland left him shocked. Father Dominic revealed that Leland was trying to become a priest and a friend of the Vatican.
Leland not only was capable of remote viewing but he was also trained by Father Dominic. Having mastered all of the psychic abilities gave him an edge to counter David’s attack. However, Leland still landed in trouble in the end as someone tipped off the cops to search Leland’s property and the evidence there was enough to put him behind bars.

Evil season 4 episode 10: Who gets Timothy’s custody
While Sheryl’s saddening demise broke the fans' hearts, the final moments of Evil season 4 episode 10 saw a glimmer of hope after Kristen got the custody of Timothy.

Surprisingly she didn’t have to go to the court, or was thinking about the child, but with Leland and the birth mother, Leslie, being imprisoned, Kristen being the biological mother held all the rights over Timothy.
Although Kristen didn’t explicitly accept Timothy, her expression clearly said out loud that she was immensely relieved and excited. Timothy’s presence in Kristen’s life would give her a renewed sense of hope and purpose, filling the void left by the turbulent events that transpired so far, and offering a chance for love and healing.
