Episode 12 of Season 4 kicked off with Kristen, David, and Ben getting a new assignment directly from Sister Andrea to assess the case of Paul. Given they still had two weeks left as the Church’s assessors, they accepted the task. After meeting Paul the trio learned that Sister Andrea used to be Paul Sr.’s love interest.

Paul Jr. revealed that he was being haunted by his doppelganger, Greagory’s spirit, who committed suicide a few days ago. Later at night at 2:45 am, Sister Andrea sensed an evil spirit within Paul Jr., where the trio only saw him sleepwalking. The next day, Ben discovered the website where one can find their doppelganger and uncovered that Paul had another counterpart.

Subsequently, each of the assessors located their doppelgangers and they were amazed by the results. During the other night of keeping a watch on Paul Jr. Sister Andrea encountered Paul Sr.’s spirit and she was deeply unsettled by this event, which caused her to later confess in the confession booth to David that she was a sinner.

Sister Andrea revealed that abandoning Paul Sr. led him away from the path of God, which later resulted in him committing suicide and his son following in the same footsteps. David consoled her to the best he could. Later they performed an exorcism on Paul Jr. and it was a success.

Things had been falling apart for Kristen, as separation from Andy and going jobless was soon going to leave her in a major financial crisis. However, she mustered up courage and decided to restart her practice. Another major problem in her life was Leland, but Leslie testifying against him would have put him behind bars for a long time.

Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Kristen, the judge was corrupt as The 60 made a deal with him, including killing Leslie. With Leslie’s absence, Leland was exonerated. Elsewhere, David struggled to bring in a new deal before Arch Diocese for financial stability, but the council already ordered to deconsecrate five churches including St. Joseph for $45 million.

Ben received offers from multiple organizations with large paychecks, but he was not interested in any of them. The episode ended with Kristen searching for her doppelganger and finding out a musician counterpart of herself.
