Evil season 4 episode 8: The Antichrist gets baptized by Father Ignatius
Evil season 4 episode 8 kicked off with Sheryl meeting David at the confession booth and revealing everything, including her latest conflict with Leland and the Antichrist/Timothy.
Sheryl wanted Timothy to get baptized, but she wasn’t clear if she wanted to rid the Antichrist from the child’s body, and it was more like she wanted to hurt and destroy Leland for good.
Despite accepting to baptize the child, David was caught up with his own troubles, leaving Sheryl to seek help from Sister Andrea, who eventually sensed the evil in Timothy.
Sister Andrea pleaded with Father Ignatius to baptize the child. However, the Antichrist made the procession difficult for them. Regardless, Sister Andrea’s resolve was stronger, and Timothy got baptized.

Later, Sheryl received a certificate for baptism and also took a picture of Timothy with Father Ignatius and Sister Andrea as proof, which she later put up for display at Leland’s front door. After discovering about the baptism, Leland was frustrated to the point that he tried to kill the child.
Leland later changed his mind and decided to pretend normal, as if the baptism never happened. After destroying the evidence he prepared for the rituals before the members of The 60 arrived. After the ritual, the Manager Demon revealed a portrait after announcing “Welcome to the new age!”
At the moment, it is unknown if the Antichrist has escaped Timothy’s body or hiding somewhere to reclaim it. Also, the series ended with a cliffhanger, leaving the audience to wonder, what the portrait is all about.
However, given Leland’s reaction, it’s clear the portrait holds significant importance, hinting at the “Woe to Babylon in 38 days” prophesy.

Evil season 4 episode 8: What was David’s new task and how it related with what he saw
Once again Father Dominic tasked David to locate a place, but this time, it was in New York. Based on a dessert, an antique sword with a pentagram, a cigar cutter, and some numbers, David was to find a place where a group of people were gathering for satanic processions.
Although he didn’t find the exact location, what he discovered later through remote viewing was more terrifying. David saw a man named Tyler (played by Sean Patrick Thomas), trying to end his life and that of his family, due to the guilt of losing his son.
David constantly tried to find the location but faced difficulties, but with Sister Andrea and Father Dominic’s suggestions, he managed to get a grasp of his powers.
Before seeking help from his friends, David revealed his remote-viewing abilities, which seemed strange to them. After successfully locating Tyler, David stopped him. Surprisingly, Tyler was also a resident in the same building as Leland, and the evil procession was just happening a few floors above.
This proves that David has still to master his powers, but on the other hand, it is also a miracle that he managed to save a life as the episode’s title card proclaims.

Evil season 4 episode 8: Did David accept his powers
Until now, David was baffled by the idea of using his powers, regardless of the purpose. After his last task, where he telepathically made a tyrant General in Ethiopia, kill himself, David was very much afraid of himself.
Despite things not being black and white for him, David showcased strong will, making him one of the influential members of the trio. In his latest mission, David was more focused on saving Tyler, the man he saw in his visions, and he overlooked the actual task of finding the evil gathering, which was assigned by Father Dominic.
David caught Tyler by surprise after revealing the dire steps he was going to take. As David couldn’t reveal his powers in public, he said God sent him to watch over Tyler and his family, which was enough for the latter to understand that he was at fault. For the first time, David realized that his powers could really do God’s works, just as he intended.
