Evil season 4 episode 9 saw Sheryl using her ultimate trump card to get Leland removed from The 60. Although Leland destroyed the certification and picture of Antichrist’s baptism, Sheryl kept copies of them.

She used this evidence to make it look like it was actually Leland’s doing, and they were enough to compel the Manager Demon into taking a big step.

However, Leland was not going to just leave his years of work and dedication like that and during a seminar, he used the same evidence and tried to frame the Manager Demon as a deceiver.

After learning that the latter changed the human child for Antichrist, Leland found this as a good opportunity to turn the tides in his favor. He successfully intimidated the others, by poisoning the Manager Demon and later ripped the latter’s heart out and ate it.

In the blink of an eye, Sheryl lost every advantage she had, so she immediately vacated the premises, running for her life. After this incident, it became apparent that Leland would take the Manager Demon’s position, and the board would also agree.

Evil season 4 episode 9 kicked off by featuring how terrifying AI could get after Father Ignatius received a text from the late Monsignor Korecki. For starters, he believed it to be some kind of prank, but eventually, when the messages became disturbingly accurate, he was surprised as well as shocked.

It eventually came to light that it was a ChatBot that was texting Father Ignatius, as he unknowingly subscribed to the application and also gave the application to access his E-mails and other files.

David, Kristen, and Ben paid a visit to the company behind this software and discovered that some users of this software were having a horrific experience. The three of them tried to test the application on their own, where David used ChatBot to talk to his late wife, Julia, Ben and his sister tried to converse with their mother, and Kristen used David’s avatar.

While Ben and David’s experience was everything that the company promised, Kristen was getting enticed by the ChatBot and it also threatened to kill her in Latin. While it seemed like the AI was possessed by some demonic entity, it was revealed that there were simply some coding errors.

The ChatBot was getting even worse when it started cross-referencing the cases and that’s where David, Ben, and Kristen got to learn that the company was letting go of most of its employees, as they failed to fulfill their goals.

Since the beginning of the season, Ben’s condition has been getting worse. Ben is not only forgetting things but also there’s an alternative personality taking over his body and doing the exact opposite of what his real self would do.

As seen in the latest episode, Ben was having migraines and his other self visited a doctor, who suggested a tin foil hat to stop the headaches he was getting.

While meeting Kristen and David, Ben started to see a fedora over his head that was covering his tin foil hat. Surprisingly, after removing the hat the headache once again wreaked havoc upon him. Although he had no scientific explanation for how the tin foil hat was suppressing his migraines, he was relieved that it was enough to bring him relief.

He even made a cocoon of tin foil to sleep peacefully and it surprisingly worked. While the episode didn’t explicitly talk about this subject, it has everything to do with the accident during the trio’s assessment of the demon activities at the Garrow Research Facility.
