Certain websites published reports of ABC not renewing the chat show The View in 2025 owing to declining viewership. The rumor originated from the MyPets website, stating that the network decided to cancel the show for 2025 because of "diminishing view engagement".

The website also quoted alleged Executive Content Director, Joe Barron, saying:

"We can't allow them to keep taking that premium time slot. Not while Roseanne Barr is gearing up to kick in at the same time next fall. She'll clobber us."

However, a definitive fact-checking website Snopes debunked the rumors, claiming that MyPets fabricated the story of canceling The View's renewal. The publication also reported that while MyPets cited Joe Barron, there is no proof of whether he actually works on The View or for ABC.

Even credible websites like Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb haven't mentioned any individual named Joe Barron as the executive content director of the show, which further strengthens the fact that MyPets fabricated the story.

As for ABC, the channel has not made any official announcement regarding the chat show not being renewed for next year and has confirmed that it is one of their successfully running daytime talk shows with respect to viewership.

The View is up in total viewers" — ABC's press release quotes show's successful statistics

Debunking rumors of The View garnering less viewership, ABC dropped a press release on July 23, 2024, showcasing successful statistics of the show. The press release read that for the week of July 8, 2024, the show ranked No.1 in households with a 1.49 rating. It amassed a total viewership of 2.237 million among all syndicated and network daytime talk shows and news programs.

Moreover, ABC's press release also mentioned:

“The View” is up in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.429 million vs. 2.374 million) versus the comparable weeks last season to a 3-year high — since the 2020-2021 season."

The chat show also scored its biggest monthly audience in two years in February 2024, wherein it garnered an average of 2.38 million viewers and scored a 1.61 rating during the week of February 12, 2024. The show's executive producer, Brian Teta, stated that the ratings had grown owing to pop culture-centric guests and politicians. Brian Teta told The Wrap in the same month:

“Politicians know that if they want to speak to an engaged audience, there’s no better place to be. There are conversations happening at this table during Hot Topics and with our guests during interviews that aren’t happening anywhere else on television… and we’re also having a lot of fun.”

The rumors and satirical pieces circulating online via websites like MyPets added that The View won't run during the "premium time slot, as informed by alleged executive content director Joe Barron. It's because comedian Roseanne Barr decided to revive her show Roseanne at the same time next fall and that she would "clobber" the channel.

In a report published by Snopes on June 13, 2024, the rumors of Roseanne's comeback to ABC in the summer of 2025 were started by a poster uploaded on Facebook. However, if the show were to return, ABC Network's official social media pages would have announced the same which wasn't the case.

The poster-sharing Facebook account called @YODA BBY ABY is connected to a site called screenslant.com, which is known for creating fake movie and TV show posters. Even the bio of the page reads that it is "100% satire and fake news".

With Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds making an appearance on the show on July 25 and the 2024 Presidential election campaigns in full swing, there is a possibility of The View is currently garnering a more positive viewership.
