Fallout season 2 gets a major update by Leslie Uggams

Leslie Uggams, who plays Betty Pearson in Fallout, confirmed during New York Comic Con that filming for Fallout season 2 will begin this November. The 81-year-old actress shared this update while discussing her new action series during a conversation with Screen Rant.

Moreover, she also added that her role as Betty Pearson will share an important presence in season 2. In the conversation with Screen Rant, Leslie Uggams said,

"That is an amazing, amazing show. I am with the Vault People, so I didn't get to see what the Earth people were doing. So when it came on, I was blown away. But Betty's got some things up her sleeve. Just stay tuned."

When asked if the team has already started shooting season 2 she replied,

"We start November. I'm excited about it."

Fallout is a post-apocalyptic action series, created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner. The entire set is based on a longstanding action video-game franchise, which was created by Leonard Boyarsky and Tim Cain.

Star Ella Purnell provides new information about Fallout season 2

In a conversation with Variety, published on October 10, 2024, Ella Purnell revealed that she has not read anything of the script. While sharing updates on her recent dark comedy show Sweetpea, the star stated she has not yet made any preparation for Fallout season 2.

Back in July 2024, Amazon executives Vernon Sanders and Jennifer Salke claimed that the scripts for Fallout season 2 were ready. But Ella Purnell playing the titular character Lucy is yet to reiterate the new season.

As per a Forbes article, published on October 9, 2024, Purnell shared that she has very limited information, and is yet to prepare for the second season.

"I’m excited, I really cannot wait. I don’t have anything, I don’t know when we’re going to do it, I don’t have a script. I have literally nothing. I don’t even know if I’m in it. I hope I’m in it. I think I’m in it. No, I’m probably in it…I really want to get going. I need to start practicing my accent again and getting back into the Lucy headspace," she said.

What is the plot of Fallout season 1?

It was back in 2020 when Amazon acquired the rights to work on a VFX-oriented live-action project, based on the popular gaming franchise. The dystopian action series was announced in July, of the same year. Bethesda Game Studios, who were originally behind the video game, joined the production.

It was on July 5, 2022, when the filming for season 1 began. It took the next two years until April 10, 2024, when the first season with a set of eight episodes was released on Amazon Prime Video. Just after eight days, on April 18, 2024, the team announced the renewal of Fallout season 2.

Fallout season 1 is set in an alternate timeline where rapid nuclear advancements after WWII create a dystopian future. In 2077, after the Great War between the U.S. and China, survivors live in underground Vaults made by Vault-Tec, which secretly conducts experiments on them. The story begins in 2296 with Lucy (Ella Purnell), a young girl from Vault 33, leaving to search for her estranged father.

Lucy embarks on a journey to the barren wastelands of Los Angeles and soon realizes her father Kyle has been abducted. On her way, she meets the Brotherhood of Steel and joins the ghoul bounty hunter, to uncover and expose the secrets of Vault-Tec.
