FBI: International season 4, episode 7 set up Jay Hayden's character Tyler Booth for more appearances in the upcoming episodes by making him a temporary member of the Fly Team.

Tyler, an old friend and former colleague of Supervisory Special Agent Wes Mitchell, initially joined the team in Budapest with a mission to take down the American ex-cop responsible for multiple cyber crimes. The fugitive had acquired Russian aid, and his blackmail and data leaks had led to the suicide of several law enforcement officers.

Wes and Tyler met as old friends, and the former brought him into the Fly Team's circle. The team had their apprehensions about the case and Tyler's position on the team, and Vo even asked Wes to make it clear who actually was calling the shots between him and Booth.

Wes made it clear that he was in charge, but he was also trying to make amends for the sacrifices Booth had made in the past. This included taking the fall for a raid gone wrong and saving Wes' life on the same mission. Raines dug up this information, and the team discovered that Booth's career had taken a hit since the incident.

During the operation, Wes ensured that Tyler received proper credit for the case’s success by asking Amanda to cc him on all emails to the HQ. As the Deputy Director was in the loop, by the end of the episode he gave Booth a call to congratulate him.

Following this, Booth was assigned temporary duty with the Fly Team for 90 days, giving him the chance to reset his career trajectory and prove himself further.

Ed Haskins was a former police officer turned traitor and a wanted fugitive on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list in FBI: International season 4. He leaked classified information to the Russians, which he acquired by blackmailing American law enforcement officers.

To gain what he wanted, he compromised the identities of undercover agents, leading to their missions being exposed. Ed was a cybercriminal who used various methods, including stolen or fabricated photos and videos (sometimes deepfakes), to blackmail his victims. His actions pushed several victims to suicide.

The case became complicated when Ed figured out that the Fly Team was after him, and he threatened to leak private photos of Tyler’s daughter Charlotte unless they stopped pursuing him.

By using Kelsey as bait after Ed's arrest, The Fly Team gained the passcode to his bot farm, preventing further damage by the end of FBI: International season 4, episode 7.

The Fly Team arrested Ed Haskins in FBI: International season 4 by using Kelsey to reveal his location, trace him, and apprehend him. Booth convinced Kelsey to get in touch with Ed through forced persuasion at the beginning of the episode.

Since Ed would never agree to come back to America, Booth decided to lure him out to Budapest where he could get help from the Fly Team. After Kelsey flew out to Budapest, Ed told her that he knew Booth was tailing her, and to meet him in Estonia.

Till then, Ed did not know that Kelsey was working with the FBI. After their plan failed, Wes decided to move the operation to Estonia. Wes and Booth were in favor of not informing the U.S. ambassador and the Estonian authorities since Ed could get a hint of the plan. Smitty strongly disapproved, as this was against the law.

The Estonian authorities later found out about the operation, but Smitty and Wes negotiated with them and they allowed the FBI to carry out the operation. They even offered their help in exchange for access to the FBI's criminal database, equipment, and the motivation to take revenge on Russia.

Kelsey, who was supposed to lure Ed out of the car, ended up getting in the car with him and betraying the FBI. However, Booth had anticipated the possibility of her switching sides. He had secretly planted a tracker in her anxiety medication bottle at the airport.

Using the tracker, the Fly Team found their location and successfully took them both into custody. Although Ed was arrested, his bot farm had a timer set for two hours after which it would leak all the confidential information he kept for blackmailing, including Charlotte's pictures.

To get the password for the farm, the Fly Team lastly leveraged Kelsey, who they knew from the beginning was his weakness. Kelsey became an accomplice in Ed's crime the moment she willingly got into his car, and the FBI would use this to get her at least 50 years in prison.

They made Ed talk to Kelsey on a call, and while crying and reminiscing their memories, she told Ed she didn't want to go to jail. In exchange for her freedom, Ed accepted all the charges and this marked the successful end of their operation.

The next episode 8 of FBI: International season 4 titled You'll Never See It Coming will be released on December 17, 2024. It will air on CBS at 9 pm and will be available after a day for Paramount+ subscribers.
