What happens in FBI season 7 episode 3?
The episode opens with a bomb that goes off inside a grocery store. The blast kills the owner of the store and gravely injures Javi, among others. Hugo Soto. Javi’s brother helps Agents Maggie and OA decode a notebook inside a store safe. The agents soon conclude that the attack is related to the gambling operation the store owner used to run.
However, several other bombs go off in New York shortly. ASAC Jubal thinks a gang war has broken out. However, Maggie and OA spot an attacker who plants a bomb in a bar and then flees. Maggie safely escorts the people out of the bar, and using the CCTV footage later, the agents identify him.
It turns out that the attacker is a lone wolf, not affiliated with any gang. Thanks to the efficiency of the intelligence team, the location of the tracker is soon obtained. Agents Scola and Chris bring him in.
Upon further investigation, it is disclosed that the lone wolf has been working with the help of an illusive app designed by Pyramid Security. OA takes a professional risk by contacting Clay, a friend who now works at Pyramid Security. Through Clay’s help, the calls of the lone wolf are traced back to a property of Fernando Perez, a real estate mogul.
Perez is deemed the prime suspect in the case since it would benefit him if people get scared by the bombings and evacuate Jackson Heights, a property he has been trying to buy.
However, FBI season 7 episode 3 comes with a twist: a field operation reveals that it was Perez’s son who carried out the attacks all along. He wanted to show his distant and cold father that he was a capable and efficient person.
Perez’s son is arrested. However, as the episode nears its end, Soto shows up with a gun and fires a bullet at Perez before he can be placated by Maggie.
