What happens in the latest episode?
Episode 6 of FBI season 7 opens with a case of serial killing. As the bodies of the victims, three women, are examined, it is revealed that their reproductive organs were cut out of their bodies when they were alive, and this painful procedure caused their deaths.
The first round of narrowing down the list of suspects leads the agents to Ray DiStefano, incidentally, the first criminal Agent Maggie had put away. He was released from prison shortly before the murder of the first victim. He is brought in for questioning.
However, the agents soon realize that Ray could not have been the murderer since his method did not match with the current killer's. Halfway into FBI season 7 episode 6, the name of Dr. Adam Marion comes up. The link is that he is an OBGYN doctor who was visited by all victims.
Maggie goes to visit him as a patient. His statements sound strange and most importantly, the murder weapon, an obsidian knife, is found in his office. Maggie immediately arrests him. However, it becomes clear from the DNA sampling found on the victims that the murderer is a woman.
Toward the end of episode 6, it dawns on the agents that the murderer could be Marion’s receptionist, Hope Adkins. Hope got taken up with the idea of being the ‘ideal’ woman by marrying and becoming a mother.
However, because of a biological condition, she could not be pregnant. Gradually, she developed a grudge against women who could but chose to do away with their reproductive functions surgically through tubal ligation.
Thus, she tracked such women from Dr. Marion’s logs, followed them, kidnapped them, and eventually tortured them to death. The agents finally piece the matter together in time and prevent Hope from killing her fourth victim. However, OA has to shoot Hope down when she tries to attack Maggie with a knife.
