Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist episode 5: Gordon and Hudson team up, for a short while
Gordon aka Chicken Man is now on the run, evading Frank Moten since the latter thinks that Gordon was involved in the robbery. Chicken Man, however, is determined to prove his innocence and tries to find out the robbers’ true identities.
Hudson is also trying to catch the robbers since that would mean his rise up the professional ladder. Thus, halfway into its run, Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist shows Hudson and Gordon both having the same goal in the story, even though they have different intentions.
Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist episode 5 sees the two teaming up. Gordon has to forego his resentment towards Hudson since he cannot achieve much in the investigation alone. Similarly, against his better judgment, police officer Hudson decides to join hands with a serial criminal like Gordon since the latter has connections in the criminal world that can bring results.
Thus, they become partners. However, as the episode concludes, their partnership reaches a tragic end. The duo corners Andre to question him about the robbery. Lamar unexpectedly shows up at this point and a shootout ensues.
Andre loses his life in this shootout. As a result, Hudson has to call his superiors and inform them of the development in the case. Hudson instructs Gordon to leave the vicinity immediately so that he is not implicated in Andre’s murder, and this way, their partnership reaches an early end.

Why does Hudson get suspended?
Once Hudson’s senior officers get involved following the murder of Andre, he sends Gordon away from the crime scene to safety. However, his handling of the case is criticized by his superior, Chief Herbert Turner Jenkins.
The already tense situation is worsened by Mason who hurls a racial slur at Hudson. Racism has been one of the prominent themes in Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, and when Hudson retaliates against the racial abuse, Jenkins orders Mason to cool it off. Hudson, however, has to hand over his badge and gun.
This suspension effectively means that Hudson cannot formally continue his investigation. However, given the fact that he is one of the principal characters in Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist, it is only natural to expect him to be back in action soon.

Moten uses Vivian to catch Chicken Man
Gordon has been running from Moten, determined not to cross his path again unless he has proven his innocence. Moten, on the other hand, has been searching for Chicken Man.
In his search, Moten confronts Vivian, Gordon’s sister at whose place the fateful robbery happened. Vivian defends her brother and tells Moten how he genuinely wants to work with Moten and turn Atlanta into a ‘Black Vegas’.
Moten, however, is relentless in his interrogation, and he lays a trap for Gordon. As a result, when Gordon rushes into Vivian’s home at the end of the episode following the Andre-mishap, he gets caught in Moten’s trap. Now he has to face Moten’s abuse and accusations, and possibly other worse treatments.
