Empire star Gabourey Sidibe and her husband, Brandon Frankel, became the parents of two children in April this year. The Shade Room confirmed the news on June 6, 2024, and acquired a few exclusive photos of the baby along with the duo. Sidibe is known for her performances in films such as Tower Heist and Grimsby, and her net worth stands at $6 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth.
The couple named their kids, Cooper and Maya. Gabourey told the media outlet:
"Brandon always wanted to name a son Cooper, so we can call him 'Coop', and Maya was named shortly before our baby moon to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Both twins have traditional West African middle names after members of my family."
Gabourey Sidibe and Brandon Frankel held the babies in the pictures. In one of the images, Frankel was seen kissing one of the kids while Sidibe put her head on his shoulder. Moreover, Sidibe revealed a few other things about the newborns, such as Maya likes to listen to her name and Cooper gives the best expressions.
Sidibe also stated that they initially had no idea about having two children and opened up on how things have changed for her and Frankel after the arrival of the babies.
"'Active sleep' is pretty wild. Also, it was a surprise to see how little they've acknowledged each other outside the womb when they seemed to interact so much inside," Sidibe added.
Notably, the Antebellum star announced her pregnancy in February this year through Instagram with a few photos, including one where she held two strollers with Frankel.
