Grotesquerie Season 1 Episode 5 preview sees Detective Lois and Sister Megan being hunted

In Ryan Murphy's Grotesquerie Season 1, a small community gets unsettled after a series of heinous crimes starts happening. With no leads about the killer, except that it feels eerily personal, Detective Lois Tryon turns to eccentric Sister Megan to help solve the sinister web of killings in their small town.

With four episodes in, the horrifying crimes in the series are only getting more confusing, especially with clues about the killer raising more questions than answers. By the end of Episode 4, Detective Lois and Sister Megan have traveled into a strange little town that will be soon engulfed in flames as they follow a clue from one of the crime scenes.

In the Grotesquerie Season 1 Episode 5 preview, released by FX Networks on YouTube on October 6, viewers witness Detective Lois and Sister Megan still trapped in the strange town and trying to run to safety. They appear to be the ones being hunted instead of them hunting the killer, who is now known as Mr. Grotesquerie.

Detective Lois and Sister Megan are being hunted in Grotesquerie Season 1 Episode 5

Detective Lois, with her eccentric sidekick, Sister Megan, will pull out all the stops to find the killer who has been terrorizing the beloved community she's protecting. Hence, when she found even an inkling of a clue about Mr. Grotesquerie in the form of the coordinates inside the wooden box, she didn't hesitate to go and find out what was in there. Of course, the eager Sister Megan went with her, as seen in their adventure in Episode 4.

There, they found a fire pit, what looked like a literal and metaphorical gateway to hell. By the end of the fourth episode, the duo were on their way to leave the slowly burning town before they were stopped by a bloodied woman on the highway who told them, "He is coming."

In the Episode 5 teaser trailer, Detective Lois and Sister Megan can be seen trying to find somewhere safe, with the latter asking, "You think we're safe here?" Sister Megan also sees a man in an all-black ensemble creepily watching them from a distance and says:

"I think there's somebody out there."

In the 20-second clip, Detective Lois makes true to her promise to Sister Megan that she wouldn't let something bad happen to her. As they appear to call for help and try to evade an unseen intruder, the detective tells Sister Megan:

"You do exactly what I tell you to do. Stay behind me. He is hunting us!"

Grotesquerie Season 1 Episode 5 sees Lois and Sister Megan trapped in the strange town

FX's new horror drama ups the ante with nerve-racking and mind-boggling episodes as Detective Lois and Sister Megan stumble on heinous new discoveries that will hopefully lead them to Mr. Grotesquerie. The Episode 5 teaser trailer sees them trapped and looking for safety in a strange town where townspeople are trying to escape.

People can be seen loading their cars with their belongings and trying to escape the town, while others haul their things using a wheelbarrow. Meanwhile, the detective and Sister Megan are staying in an inn in the ghost town. At one point, Detective Lois voices her apprehension about the place, saying:

"Something is so off about this place."
